  1. So far, Lowe has given us a big boost. he's only just turned 30, so there is no reason to think he can't repeat some of his past very nice production years. (He has one more arb year left, too! Thanks Brez!)
  2. This is one guy all Sox fans should be pumped up over. Locking him up was a huge plus in Brez's often maligned portfolio. Thanks B & B!
  3. He had a nice stretch, last summer, after a poor start. If he can repeat that, we might be in very nice shape to end 2025.
  4. That win, last night was great! It was also badly needed. No doubt, it looked like we might be headed for another major letdown, and maybe we still are. I'm glad everyone is not the same. I expect negativity, and I have been negative and overly negative at times and about many things, too. When I go too far, I'm called out, and rightfully so. When other do, or I think they do, I and others call them out. In situations like this, we tend to call out what we perceive are mistakes or areas that need clarification, more than telling people they are right. That is human nature, or at least is becoming it, more and more, these days. That homer by Anthony, and the cool bat flip reminded me of the Devers homer vs the Yanks. It was thrilling. Fred has called a lot of losses, this year, way before they were sure losses, and of course the odds are on the side of the team that is ahead. He was wrong, last night. He's been letting us know how wrong we have been, night after night, for believing in our team, even when hoping against hope. We won, and I let him have it. perhaps I went overboard, but unlike my situation with Red, where I apologized many times, while never seeing one returned, I don't think I owe Fred one, so I'm not sure why a mod is telling me to chill.
  5. You must not even realize how much you do what you accuse others of doing, often more than they (and I) do. You might be a little more subtle than some of us, but you are no better. I'm totally chill, so stop trying to tell me what to do or say. I said nothing to or about Fred that wasn't true or that was offensive. I have no issues with how Fred has treated me, and I'm not sure he has any with me, or not, but his responses indicate he has none. (Red was another story, and I admit I should have let that go years ago, but I'm not able to easily let go, when people lie about my positions. I made it my issue, when I should have just ignored it all.) I know I go overboard, too much. It doesn't make it any better by admitting it and often apologizing, when I do, but please stop pretending you are above it all.
  6. The thing is, I agreed with Fred that we have been "flops," and it unleashed a tidal wave. He was right about us being flops, but thinks the Sox teams of the past are these Sox, today. Take a look at the rosters from year to year. The amou nt of turnover each year is astounding, and when you count guys out all year or nearly all year being replaced by some new pick-up or call up, it's even more extreme. This may be a crude approach, but just look at our 40 man roster by seniority on it. #1 is Houck. He was added late 2020! Wong and Whitlock are next and started on the 40 for the 2021 season. That's less than 5 years ago, but because the 2022 team were flops, so are these guys. The idea is absurd. Duran was added summer '21 and 26 others were added right before or after the 2022 season. Casas was a Sept call-up in '22, and counting him, 30 guys were added for 2023 or later. Now, consider this: out of those 10 guys, Casas, Houck, Crawford and Wink were on the IL all year or almost all year! Another is Zach Kelly and another a platoon player currently on the IL (Refsnyder.) I'm not upset with Fred and some others for being so negative. Most of the time, they make me laugh. I fully enjoyed the win, last night and felt the desire to call out the doom & gloomers, as they so readily and frequently call out those of us trying to be realistic or optimistic about a team that has looked much better than those past Sox teams.
  7. That's the reason he's ranked 33rd, and at age 22, one might think how much upside does he have, but when you see him pitch like that, you gotta keep the door open to the possibilities. The kid was in FCL, last summer, so he still has room to grow sand improve. I think I'd put him near #20-25.
  8. If masochism is your thing, then at least I understand your angle.
  9. We may still have a bad stretch and miss the 2025 playoffs, but this is not the same team as 2022, 2023 & 2024. Not even close! Maybe all the Brez and Cora haters will have the last laugh. Maybe not. This team is very fun to watch, and Sox fans who choose to bash, bitch and hate during a season like this are too hard for me to fathom. I'm not telling anyone what they can or can't do. Nobody needs my permission to for anything. I won't tell you to root for another team, like I have to others before, but is it really so hard to be positive and actually support your team?
  10. Like I need a troll's permission. At least you can still make me laugh, so there is that.
  11. Pleasing others or not has nothing to do with this. Trolling does.
  12. You lost me, Fred. I used to think you were just stuck in a negativity loop. I shoulda listened to the others.
  13. Sox up 3 on KCR, 4 on CLE and 1 on SEA (the last WC slot) We are 1/2 behind NYY and 5 behind TOR. 34 games to go! It's showtime!
  14. We had so many chances to bust this game into a double digit run total. Our best hitters kept coming up short in the big moment, then BAM! Anthony breaks the mold. Lowe was the perfect get, because he is oblivious to the "Red Sox Way." He keeps forgetting to miss RBI opportunities. Thanks Brez. May, Matz and now Lowe. We coulda, woulda, shoulda... blah, blah, blah.
  15. Imagine this: Fred is a Yankee fan on a Yankee forum. How many Yankee players suck?
  16. Baseball is a funny game. My guess is many winning teams could say the same about 2-3 teams.
  17. Aita pitched a gem. 6 IP & 0 ERs 2 Hits 2 BB 4 K He's down to 3.29
  18. With Jh Garcia promoted, the offense at Woo & Por look pretty lame. Castro is Rule 5 and probably won't be protected or selected. Maybe they are hoping to keep him looking far from ML ready. This was the season for Castro, Bleis and Cespedes to make a move and boost their chances: all 3 feel way short of doing that. Castro came the closest, but he started the farthest away, IMO. The closest everyday player to being protected might be Hickey, but I seriously doubt he will be. We have a few pitchers likely and some borderline: Likely: Sandlin & Paez Borderline: Uberstine, Mullins, Monegro (60 Day IL) Long shots: I Coffey, Drohan, Sansone, Song
