  1. So, all we need is for Pom to turn things around and you'll be oh for 3 on your calls for dumping slumping Sox players. I wonder who the next 3 will be.
  2. Blake finally passed Vaz in OPS, but with so few PAs, he's maybe one oh for 4 away from passing him on the downturn.
  3. It was all about the $22M for 2019 and our need to pay to keep or replace impending free agents plus some hefty arb raises.
  4. Big win today. ERod almost got through 7 innings. Looking sharp. JMart doing what we all wished he'd do. JBJ showing his hot streak is for real, Nice to see Swi chip in with 2 hits, too. Beni staying hot. Keep it going guys!
  5. This is all Passan's opinions. I see no quote from anyone on the Sox. I'm not saying HRam is the perfect person- nobody is. They guy obviously worked hard at getting in shape. You can see his muscle build-up since early in his career. I never noticed any loafing. Maybe you're right. Maybe we'll hear things weeks and months from now. I do think people look at appearances and judge people. I do, too. I didn't mean to imply you are a racist, but I do think some people see dreads or tats and assume the worst- white or black skin.
  6. I'm still seeing a very long swing. Like I said, I'm not an expert on swing analysis, but I really don't see a shortened swing.
  7. I love watching this team. I'm super high on our chances to win it all. I think we'll be strong again next year. I do get critical at times, but I'm mostly optimistic. I don't sit around moping about past trades and signings. I may criticize individual moves, but I haven't called for the firing of any GM in decades. I was the last to jump on the fire Valantine band wagon. I was for firing Farrell pretty early, but I didn't harp on his in game moves every second. Sometimes I think some posters think if a person is being critical, they must not enjoy the team, as is. In my case, it's just not true. I've watched every pitch of every game for a decade. I love the Sox, win or lose, but I really love this team and think we're going all the way.
  8. True, but Guriel is off to a bad start, so maybe HRam could see a little time at 1B, too.
  9. Remember those Yankee fans yapping about our weak schedule? We've played 31 games vs winning teams. The Yanks have played 25. We've played 24 games vs losing teams. The Yanks have played 25.
  10. I hope they go 30 innings and wear each other out. I can't wait to see the Sox add a run to Houston's ERA. I got tickets to 3 games. Going with 3 different sets of Astros fans.
  11. I guess, for some, dreads = antics.
  12. Yes, he's hitting the ball harder even in his outs.
  13. Team Catcher OPS .889 Pitt .870 NYY .772 LAD .770 SFG .765 ATL .762 CC .759 HOU .740 TBR .739 LAA .722 DET .704 MIA 12th Place Leon .694 .693 CIN .685 KCR .682 TOR .681 MLB Average .669 AL Average .664 CWS 15rh in MLB (the mean team catcher OPS)
  14. We now have an "Offensive Catcher".
  15. Leon is about to pass Devers in OPS. Next, we'll here calls of "Fat Raff" to be DFA'd.
  16. Certainly, there is a history of good hitters not being platooned despite massive differentials. Here's one... Yaz career .891 vs RHPs .692 vs LHPs
  17. Maybe Leon will have a better season than 2016. "Fat Sandy" telling Natick to sit the hell down!
  18. Disappointment in Sam Travis? Lighting a fire? Just adding depth?
  19. You ask me to let it go, then ask a loaded question. 1) I was responding to another post. I did not bring it up. 2) I have said I'm happy with DD and I love the fact that we have/had a 4-5 year window- not 1 or 2. 3) I was not against trading prospects, in fact I suggest many over the years. The deals DD made were for players I liked a lot. Who couldn't like Kimbrel & Sale? I loved the Sale trade and suggested trading for him for several years. I even suggested a very similar trade than what actually took place. I disliked the Kimbrel trade, because he was making near FA money at the time, and I felt like 4 prospects for a FA contract was double paying. Since the trade, the closer contracts have sky-rocketed, so that part of the deal does not look so bad now. I liked Pom when we got him, but I felt like Espinoza was going to be very special. He got hurt and Pom did well for us last year. I'd still take that trade back. In short, I'd have traded Espi, Margot, and some of the side pieces for Quintana. Yes, I am happy with out team today (and next year), but Quintana had more years of control than Kimbrel and Pom, and I'd have left a few more prospects than DD left. I'm glad DD is our GM. I love Cora. I'm glad Henry is willing to nudge up to the $40M over the limit mark, but I plan on being a Sox fan in 2020 and beyong, God willing. I'm not missing the "big picture," because the big picture goes into the future. Yo me, the cliff naysayers are the ones missing the big picture. It's not contradictory to love the team we have and be concerned about the extended future- thinking maybe we could have both. I'm not upset, I'm not obsessed. There's nothing to let go of. I will, however, keep responding to loaded questions and comments I feel I want to counter or agree with.
  20. The jury is still out on most of those traded. Margot was Theo's prospect. Guerra looks like a total bust. Moncada, Kopech and Espinoza could still show something special. The Basabes don't look as good. Some may bloom late.
  21. Every Sox starter has a team winning record when they start.
  22. Maybe for Christmas. I'm too damn cheap.
  23. How long will Betts be out?
  24. Big screen TV- small screen computer.
