  1. Lin is probably better.

  3. To be fair, here are this year's slot numbers (before tonight): 7 slot (AL Rank) 11. Yankees .649 14. Red Sox .622 8 slot 4. Yankees .722 14. Red Sox .589 9 slot 1. Yankees .803 5. Red Sox .643 We still have a long way to go!
  4. Summer 7-9 Slot Update Sox 6-12 (6/27) 5-12 (6/26) 4-8 (6/24) 1-10 (6/23) 6-15 (6/22) 5-13 (6/21) 27-70 (.386) Yanks 0-8 (6/27 includes pitcher slot) 1-12 (6/26) 1-12 (6/25) 2-15 (6/24) 1-9 (6/23) 1-9 (6/22) 0-10 (6/21) 6-75 (.080) I keep expecting things to start moving the other way, but the gap is widening!

  6. Time for JBJ to go deep!
  7. 7-9 hitters coming through again!
  8. Just got caught up. Leaving the base loaded back in the 4th gave me a bad feeling.
  9. At least he's got 1 more arb year. Tough call
  10. He may think he can get 10 after the arb years. If we juice up the arb year salaries to more than he'd likely get, he may go for it. I might just give him 11 or 12 now.
  11. A good starting pitcher who starts 30+ games faces more batters over a season (often over 800) than any hitter ever got in plate appearances (sometimes over 700). Don't get ME started!
  12. Our next day off is July 5th and then the All Star break starts the 16th. I'd like to see us give every starter an extra days rest besides the day off and break- maybe when we play Texas and Toronto before the AS break.
  13. I don't disagree, but most of the real bad super long term deal involve players who are signed for a significant amount of years beyond 34 or 35. Betts will start his free agency at age 28. He's play 7 years up to age 34, and I'm thinking he will age well. His last 3 seasons would be at 35, 36 and 37 not 92 like Pujols. If there ever was a player.... I'd even sign Betts to 12 years right now by buying out his arb years. I might even sign him to 1 at age 28 (last year at age 39).
  14. He did hit 30 Hrs back in 2007, but he never hit over 21 any other year.
  15. Leon has a 1.071 OPS in the all important last 7 day sample size. He has 3 RBI in his last 3 games. 2H 1 BB 1 HBP 1SF
  16. It's going to take Phillips a while before he's "ready". If we do decide to call him up, we'll probably put Nunez on the DL or trade Swihart. That's my guess. We could try a 2 for 1 deal like Swihart and Hembree (both out of options) for a better RP'er.
  17. He was still a slight plus on UZR/150 (+0.9) last year at 2B, but he's been -7 DRS two years in a row. e's probably still better on D than Holt and Nunez, even though he's 37. He hit .735 last year with 13 HRs, so he coudl prove to be an upgrade on offense. I was hoping Nunez was the Pedey insurance we needed, but now it looks like he is just utility.
  18. I'd try to rest him even more than he has so far. Shoot for 325+ less pitches and 30+ less IP.
  19. Farrell would have sat JBJ as planned.
  20. 1. Betts RF 2. Beni LF 3. JD DH 4. Bogey SS 5. Moreland 1B 6. Nunez 2B 7. Devers 3B 8. Leon C 9. JBJ CF
  21. I'm far from giving up on Beeks based on one start. He'll get another chance at some point, if not this year.
  22. I could see us trading JBJ this winter, too, especially if he ends up over .700 or .750. I hope we keep him.
