  1. I think he wanted Wright to start, a la the Rays, pitch 2 innings, then bring in Sale for 4-6 IP.
  2. I'd like to feel optimistic with Moreland, but it's hard.
  3. Why should Sale "walk a couple?" He walked one batter in 12 IP since returning from his second DL stint. He walked 0 in 5 IP in the one game after his first DL stint. I don't think BBs will be a problem. Low Ks and HRs might be.
  4. I did mention ERod is available, if needed.
  5. Maybe something like this: Game 1: Sale 5-6, Wright 2-3, Kimbrel 1 Game 2: Price 7, Brasier 1, Kimbrel 1 off day Game 3: Porcello 7, Brasier 1, Kimbrel 1 Game 4: Eovaldi 5, ERod 2-3, Kimbrel 1 off day Game 5: Sale 5-6, Wright 2-3, Kimbrel 1 (ERod can be used in game 1 or 2, if needed. Barnes and others used only as needed.)

  7. That and not going with the cold hand.

  10. It's not going to be easy winning the AL championship. The best teams are all here. While I like our chances better than anyone else's, losing to any one of Houston, NYY or CLE does not mean we suck. This is baseball. Anything can happen in a 5 or 7 game series. We should win, and I think we will. I understand how losing in the playoffs again would suck, but there are some damn good teams all trying to win it all.
  11. He's not taking $60M/4. He won't even take $60M/3, $75M/4 or $85M/5.
  12. It's not that simple. 1) You assume we will stay $39.5M over the luxury tax, which I suppose we might do for one more year. 2) Arb raises, option raises and Pablo's contract still exist. 3) We will have several needs (see below). What is the greater need area? A) Closer: Brasier/Barnes/Hembree #1 Set-up man: Barnes, Hembree, Workman C) #2 Set-up man: Hembree, Workman, Poyner D) #5 starter: Wright, Johnson, Velazquez, Shawaryn, Shepherd, Houck, D Hernandez E) 2B: (Pedey) Nunez, Holt, Hernandez, Lin F) 1B v LHPs: Holt or Ockimey I actually like Wright & Johnson over any other choices here, except maybe 2B with several chances at someone stepping up.
  13. Not a bad idea, but I doubt we try that strategy ice cold.
  14. The good thing is, it won't be LAD or NYY. Maybe the Guardians, Cubs or Braves?
  15. A closer. 2 set-up men. I like our starters going into next year, just like I liked this year's. I'm usually one to always want to add a 1-2 type starter.I'm not so hot on signing 4-5 types. Start the year with what we have, and if we need a starter, then look for thenext Eovaldi/Happ type. They seem to be cheaper during the year than before, lately.
  16. That's not me.
  17. I wouldn't mind seeing Pearce FT or even Holt at 1B vs RHPs, but I'm almost certain Cora will stay with what he did all season: MM vs RHPs and Pearce vs LHP.
  18. I like Wright coming in after Sale. Big clash of styles.
  19. Me too, but he will get more than we can afford. We have bigger need areas.
  20. Too bad the Yanks didn't sign him.
  21. We need great righties.
  22. Tire themselves out!
  23. For all you who believe you're only as good as your last game, you must think we'll go 11 and oh in the playoffs.
  24. We really could use a Moreland resurgence.
  25. What is the more likely first game line? A) 2 IP 4H 4 ER 3K 2 BB or 5 IP 4H 2 ER 8K 1 BB or C) 6 IP 2H 1 ER 10K 1 BB I'm going with C with B being very possible.
