  1. Me, too. That team sickens me. GO BUCKS! (Sir Charles picked my team!)
  2. Cora certainly favored Nunez over Holt last year, even at 2nd base, where Holt is the better defender. We might try to re-sign one of them, and I'd prefer Holt, assuming good health, due to his ability to play OF without being a liability out there. Nunez is the better 3Bman, but with Chavis and Dalbec on the rise, we may use them instead.
  3. The weird thing is, Moreland has been basically a platoon 1Bman, since joining us, and while he has the "long" platoon, he should not be getting tired or breaking down physically every August.
  4. I agree. Chavis is the guy right now, and he probably will be all year, but there's a chance we may need Nunez, since Chavis may hit a wall and Holt and Pedey are so questionable, healthwise. We aren't DFA'ing Pedey, and it will be very hard to have Chavis, Pedey, Holt and Nunez all on the 25 man roster at the same time, so I realize a choice may need to be made at some point. To me, Pedey is such a long shot to ever contribute again, and I realize he's under contract longer than Holt & Nunez, but cutting Nunez is a hard choice for me to agree with.
  5. I just saw the highlight. WOW! Nice to see the Balzers win. I'm a Bucks fan all the way, but I have a hard time watching the NBA. (I used to pay for the NBA pass. Now, I don't watch for free.)
  6. I totally agree. With so many issues with injuries at 2B, and Chavis not yet proven, we need to keep all options on the table. Last year, we had Pedey, Holt, Nunez and Lin, and we still went out and got Kinsler and even used Brandon Phillips in 9 games. Keep 'em all. Nunez may still have a hot streak in him. Holt is a question mark. Pedey is just about on the last thread of his rope. Chavis has looked good, but that could end, and he's not really a 2Bman.
  7. Best recent cherry-pick: .751 since 2015. Worst recent cherry-pick of significant length: .699 in the last 365 days, .691 since 2017 or .662 since 2018. Yes,.710 is about what he is. He's shown he can do better. In 2 pretty long streaks, he's done this... .834 in 891 PAs from 2015-2016 and .791 in his last 396 PAs just last year- not counting the playoffs. .823 in his last 259 PAs of 2018- not counting the playoffs. It's those pretty long teases of respectable hitting that makes him an enigma and the focus of so much debate. If he just hit .710 every month, we'd probably not be talking about him. BTW, here are his monthly OPS since the start of 2015 (only if 70+ PAs listed): 1.163 .739 .807 1.175 .805 .839 (his best 6 month stretch of his career (last 2 mos. '15+first 4 of '16) .651 .731 .808 1.009 .596 .770 .517 .600 .599 .653 .801 .827 .826 .406 (April 2019) 5 out of 20 months under .650. 11 months above .770 Only 4 between.
  8. You guys give up on slumping players way too quickly. If you were GMs, just about every player would have been DFA'd at some point in their careers.
  9. With Pedey a complete unknown, I'd keep Nunez around.
  10. Good time to trade him.
  11. Except his final year with just 89 PAs. Withe the Sox... .872 in 1998 (28 XBHs in 241 PAs) .661 in 1999 (23 XBHs in 324 PAs)
  12. He has a .320 OBP since May 5th (6 games). It's that damn .200 SLG that's keeping him down. Time for a dinger, today!
  13. If I were the Sox, I wouldn't claim them, either.
  14. I haven't heard anything, but then again, I live down in Texas now. It's weird, because Porcello's numbers with Vaz are not as bad as a couple of other starters named Price & Sale (and Vaz seems to now be Price's caddy). CERA w catcher (OPS against) Porcello 4.07 w Leon .726 (515 IP) 4.40 w Vaz .757 (141 IP) 4.93 w Swi .800 (122 IP) Sale 2.44 w Leon .565 (343 IP) 4.32 w Vaz .708 (73 IP) no IP with Swi Price 2.82 w Leon (194 IP) 4.25 w Vaz (299) 5.73 w Swi (11) With ERod, it hardly matters... 4.00 w Leon .677 (99) 4.20 w Vaz .718 4.44 w Swi .693 But, all 4 starters have done with Leon.
  15. He's been throwing 94-95 for several games this year, and Jacko acts like he just got his velocity back last game.
  16. Wow, that number sure changed a lot.
  17. It looks that way, but he's a fighter.I doubt he gives up.
  18. I've always wanted Leon over Swihart at catcher, and wanted Swihart to be given chances at other positions, but he never showed much hope. I'm glad we brought Leon back up, but I truly hope Swihart does well in AZ. People may say, "I told you so" to me, but my guess is he will never make it as a catcher in AZ, and even if he does well as a non catcher, I'll be happy for him. If he makes it as a catcher, I will be surprised and readily admit I was wrong. It won't upset me.
  19. He starts every year off very well. It would be nice, if he could do something like this all year. (He did show some life in the playoffs, so it's hard to be too critical.
  20. Ockimey's OPS is now up to.932. He's always had raw skills. It would be nice if he showed big growth this year, even if he just earns some trade stock. Mejia is doing his best to show he'll never make the big club. He had his 3rd blown save and got his 3rd loss while letting up 2 ER in .2 IP. Portland scored 4 in the top of the 12th and found a way to lose 8-7. Feltman pitched 2 scoreless innings to bring his ERA down to 8.25. Dalbec had 4 of the team's 6 hits, including 3 dingers a 2B and a BB. Wow! 15 TB's in one game. I'm wondering when he gets the call to AAA.
  21. That and the fact that we have no other options. Even the idea of moving Chavis to the OF may lose some steam as he slumps.
  22. Yes, I know, but you missed my point.
  23. While the Rockets did blow it, the refs were horrible down the stretch. The out of bounds off the lef of a Warrior and Capella getting hit on the head are just 2 obvious ones. No technicals on DG, but they are quick to call 'em on the Rockets.
  24. I'm going to Friday and Saturday's games. Yipee!
  25. Nice to see Porcello settle down. JBJ even got 2 rbis! Leon now has an OPS about what Swihart's was! LOL!
