  1. Yes, and in his last 13.1 IP, he has allows just 8 hits. The 5 BBs is still too high, but with 13 Ks and a WHIP just over 1.0, he's not going backwards.
  2. I have more faith, although not much, in Johnson than Smith.
  3. Our SP'ing has been our weakest area this year, and you want to take our best starter and move him to an area that has been a strength this year. We have no SP'er to take Sale's slot in the rotation. It's not Sale's fault the team won't score enough runs in his starts to help his w-l record. Sale has been one of MLB's best SP'er over the last 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,...years. He's been a top SP'er since his poor start. The only stat that matters to you is the full 2019 season numbers and W-L record? Sale is a SP'er and should remain one. This is "common sense." Now, if you want to make Eovaldi the closer, there is some "sense" to that idea.
  4. I loved the Porcello-Cespedes trade and fully supported the extension contract, but that was based on Porcello's age at the time, and the idea that all his years of team control would be in prime. His next deal is not the same. I'm all for bringing him back, but it depends on the cost and length of the deal. My guess is, we offer him a QO, and either way, we'll be okay.
  5. Back injuries are hard to evaluate. I think the price went down due to injury concerns.
  6. Let's see if our ranking rises as much as your view.
  7. We've had a few players struggling since 5/20. I'm hopeful we've turned things around for the good and for good.
  8. Leading AL WAR since May 20th: 1.7 Trout 1.4 Kepler 1.3 Bogey 1.3 JBJ 1.2 Lindor 1.1 C Santana 1.1 Bregman 1.0 Devers 1.8 LLynn 1.8 Giolito 1.3 Morton 1.3 Odorizzi 1.2 Sale 1.2 Verlander 0.9 Boyd & Minor 0.8 Price & Chirinos 0.7 Porcello 3 of top 8 on offense. 3 of top 11pitchers
  9. I'm not sure EE could play 1B everyday, so it would have force JD to the OF and JBJ to the bench.
  10. I have a feeling this summer is going to see a massive amount of sellers and a glut of helpful players going for dirt cheap as the supply way outweighs the demand.
  11. Maybe Houck & Ockimey? Groome? Mata? Feltman & Ockimey?
  12. Look, I'd rather have EE than Moreland/Pearce, but maybe something else is in the works, and we'd have had to trade or DFA Pearce after getting EE.
  13. So, do you agree that you overvalued EE's trade stock?
  14. EE is not the only guy on the block.
  15. EE is having back issues, and certainly the Pearce signing looks like a massive overpay right now, but give DD some time. He's no dummy. Relax. We got this.
  16. Apparently, the Seattle pay down makes the salary hit just $3.4M for the Yanks.
  17. Lets see if the return is as big as harmony hoped it would be, and if the Sox has enough to match it.
  18. Living here in Houston, I'm wondering if they might have a big deal in mind to make one final push while GS is down. Word is, they may trade Capella.
  19. Our pen has helped us win more games than they have helped us lose. I'd say our biggest problems have been: 1) Lack of timely hitting 2) Defense 3) SP (first 3 weeks only) 4) Second base (before Chavis & Holt's return) 5) CF (before May 20) Biggest pluses: 1) Bogey 2) Price 3) Devers 4) JD 5) Sale (after first few starts) 6) Betts 7) Pen (especially Workman/Walden/Hembree)
  20. Cut the 2019 season,so far, in half.... Red Sox OPS Numbers: First 36 games: 1.106 Chavis .881 Betts .865 JD .831 Beni .829 Moreland .815 Vaz .810 Bogey .781 Devers .464 Nunez .419 JBJ .316 Pearce Second 36 games (not counting today): 1.058 JD 1.003 Bogey .944 JBJ .922 Moreland .918 Devers .799 Vaz .794 Betts .734 Beni .712 Leon .696 Chavis .560 Nunez Holt did not have 50+ PAs in either sample size.
  21. They were bound to struggle at some point. I'm still thinking we can win the division, but it won't be easy.
  22. I've said I'd be fine trading him this winter, as long as we get a solid and needed piece in return. That being said, I'm sure management loves the hot streaks and some of his long warm streaks- not to mention his playoff numbers last year. It will be hard to replace his defense, but I agree that consistency is a virtue. BTW, up to... .685
  23. WOW! No surprise L Ball was booted out of LA, butb those first round picks should all be low ones. That 4th pick could be a doozie, and coupled with Zion & Ingram, could give the Pelicans a very nice young core. Good deal for both sides. If the Warriors lose KD, the west is wide open.
  24. Got to keep pounding these lightweight teams. Nice to see all the multi-hit batters- and on a day Sale pitches!!! The pen seems to be doing better. I'm glad Chavis seems to have adjusted, but it does seem like KC and BAL did not go after him with high heat as much as others did.
  25. Now, 15Ks and 2 BBs after 8.
