  1. Keuchel had a QO attached to his name.
  2. You think it's better than 30:1?
  3. If Sale is out, the reset should be an automatic call. DD should be gone or stripped of the day-to-day operations in favor of a known rebuilder. We should only sign players that will... 1) Not put us over the luxury tax. 2) Fill a temporary role (1 year contract) that keeps us semi decent next year. 3) Be in the longer term plans at a low cost (probably not many of these types).
  4. What are the odds? 1,000:1?
  5. Another 5 runs by our starter. (Yes, I'm going to keep saying it.) Wow! Devers is el fuego! The sky is the limit for this kid! After game season OPS: .976 Devers .946 Bogey .946 JD .894 Betts .839 Holt .835 Moreland .830 Beni .818 Marco .808 Travis .797 Vaz .766 Chavis .711 JBJ .562 Leon
  6. Yes, and that we might want to know more about Shawaryn, in order to make tough decisions this winter. We know Porcello, and we know he won't be back.
  7. MLB.com writes... The production of Devers at such a young age has put him in rare company. The left-handed hitting masher is the first MLB player with 100-plus runs and RBIs in a season before 23 since future Hall of Famer Miguel Cabrera in 2005. The only other Red Sox player to accomplish the feat? A guy by the name of Ted Williams.
  8. Games starterd: 121 Betts 120 Bogey 117 Devers 108 Beni (BR, I don't think it counts today's game.) I remember more days off, but not just these three. I know others had some injury issues.
  9. I think Price would get way more than $18M/3, if he was a FA this winter.
  10. Exactly. DD and Henry knew the risks, and they knew an injury risk was greater with Sale than most, but I think they liked the lower years and dollars than what most expected, and that was the trade off.
  11. Thanks. We got home, tonight. Not sure when the service will be.
  12. The flip side of the gamble was that he gets more money and more years had he been healthy last year. He gets way more money next year had he pitched well this year. We gambled and most likely lost.
  13. There was 5 days off for the break and several before it. We were in urgent mode then. A day off for a couple guys, maybe, but we were giving more than I liked. Again, I'm not saying I know more than Cora, I'm just giving my opinion. Cora is my man.
  14. I used to think the same of Beeks as I do now about Shawaryn. Had w had a chance to play Beeks more maybe Ed have seen he was not as bad as we thought.
  15. Forgive my bluntness recently. Some of you may know my 19 year old dog died recently and my brother in law died unexpectedly 2 days ago, and we are going through a tough time with his family, right now.
  16. To me, one of the saddest parts of this season is how I'd have expected 120 wins back in April had someone said Bogey, Vaz & Devers would have a season like this!
  17. Good one, numb nuts! Lol 😜
  18. This sense of urgency, IMO, would have made more sense 3-4 weeks ago.
  19. Those games mattered just as much, and we were still resting guys not too long ago, when we were actually still I it AND facing teams we needed to beat. Now, it doesn't matter and we play everyone every game. How does that make sense?
  20. Not really. The impending cliff was real even if Sale was on his way to the 2020 Cy Young Award.
  21. Should I have called them "flat earthers?"
  22. I wouldn't put it that way. 1) I realize I do not know everything, and Cora has access to more info than I. 2) I'll never fully agree with anyone, and don't need to do so to "fully believe" in a baseball manager. 3) I may be the only poster who believes Cora is the best we ever had, so if I don't fully believe, I can probably still claim I "believe" in him more than anyone else here.
  23. This year, maybe only Trout is better.
  24. I still think Cora is the best Sox manager ever, but I dislike many of the choices of rest days, especially right after a struggling player has had a big game or two, or it is a key game vs a key opp.
