  1. We will finish above the #16 or #17 slot, and I'm hopeful we can end up top 12-15.
  2. If this is the line-up with Vaz not Plawecki, I'd go with Arroyo and Chavis (not on 26 man roster) at 2B over Marwin. I'd also bump Dalbec up to the 6 or 7 slot.
  3. I called him, the other day, and set him straight.
  4. I'm probably Chavis's least supportive fan, but I thought this was the time to give him and extended look-see and determine, once and for all, if he's a keeper. I do still wonder what his trade value is. The BTV site has him valued very well. 8.9 EHern 7.6 ERod & Yorke 6.6 Chavis 6.0 Houck 5.4 Pivetta & Seabold 5.3 Ward 5.0 Lugo
  5. Chavis was already called up and been around a couple years. He shouldn't count in this debate.
  6. That was the point of the data. Other teams have better top 4's and 5's, but the Yankee SP'er depth jumped them to 3rd. Let's see how much depth plays a role for the top teams and just how good the largely untested Yankee depth does in 2021- not to mention huge question marks like Kluber, Taillon & German.
  7. I can't see anyone else besides Downs and Duran. Casas is a long shot. Munoz might have a better chance than Casas. If Downs can win the 2B job, EHern would likely squeeze Duran out of any chance at being FT, unless Renfroe/Cordero/Marwin flop. If Duran moves up, then EHern squeezes Down at 2B.
  8. I got an antibodies test last week, to see if my vaccine is working, and they nurse was not aware I had been vaccinated. She told me I had tested positive for antibodies. I said, "Is that good?" And she said it meant I had "had the virus at some point." When I told her I had both vaccines, she said, "Oh, I didn't know that. It means the vaccine worked."
  9. Agreed, even on a min contract. Minor league deal, yes.
  10. Doesn't that happen, if you had a vaccine?
  11. fangraphs has the Yankee SP'ers ranked 3rd, too, but mostly on the strength of their depth. They are the only team with 7 pitchers over 1.1. 5.5 Cole 2.7 Kluber 2.1 Montgomery 1.9 Taillon 1.2 German 1.1 Garcia 1.9 Sevy 0.2 King 0.1 Schmidt (I think Kluber & Montgomery are high, but maybe King & Schmidt are too low.) Their top 4 (not counting Sevy) is 12.5/ Top 5 is 13.7 With Sevy: Top 4:12.5 / Top 5:14.1 Some teams below the Yanks: NYM: Top 4: 14.5 (deGrom, Stroman, Carrasco, Syndergaard, Walker) Top 5: 15.7 (+Peterson) Both better than NYY WSH: Top 4: 13.3 (Scherzer, Strasburg, Corbin, Letser 0.9) Top 5: 14.2 (+Ross) Both better than NYY CIN: Top 4: 10.7 (Castillo, Gray, Mahle, Miley) Top 5: 11.7 (+Lorenzen CWS: Top 4: 11.2 (Giolito, Keuchel, Lynn, Cease Top 5: 12.1 (+Rodon) ATL: Top 4: 9.9 (Morton, Fried, Soroka, Anderson) Top 5: 11.3 (+Smyly) The Sox are ranked 15th: 2.6 ERod 2.3 Sale 1.9 Eovaldi 1.4 Richards 1.3 Perez 0.7 Pivetta 0.5 Houck 0.3 Seabold Top 4: 7.2 Top 5: 7.9
  12. I was being sarcastic, but they don't look too impressive.
  13. Rangers DFA Roughed Odor and may eat $27M. Could the Sox grab him after he clears waivers? Ex Sox news: Chatham & Lucroy released. Buttrey optioned to alt site. Angels sign Noe Ramirez.
  14. Wilson & Britton start out on the IL. Taillon pushed back to 6th game. Voit goes under the knife, tonight. Wade (career .575 hitter), King (career 7.04 ERA) & Nick Nelson (1.500 career WHIP and 4.71 ERA in AAA) make the roster. I can see why Yankee fans love their great depth.
  15. I can't believe we are this close!
  16. He did go 3 for 7 with an HR in the 2019 playoffs, plus... 2018: AUG: .987 SEP: .968 2020: JULY .655 AUG .621 SEP .778 He had 2 HRs, a dbl and 2 singles with 4 RBI in 28 playoff ABs in 2020. (He also walked twice.)
  17. The Marwin, Kike and JD show! Houck with a solid 4 IP. Maybe the recent gloomy news can be brightened up a bit.
  18. I'm thinking we take Jud Fabian at #4.
  19. Do C-19 list players or quarantined count towards the 26 man roster? If not, Chavis should likely be on the opening day roster, right?
  20. Wow. 8! Andriese would not start until game 5 (day 6), so he'd be okay.
  21. It's not just conventional numbers... 2019-2020 4.40 FIP (4.02 before 2019-2020) 4.96 xFIP (3.98 prior) 27.5% LD% (22.5% prior) 120 ERA- (100 prior) Also, I'd love for Porcello to be on our roster, if it didn't put us over the limit or leave us with no buffer zone.
  22. Thanks. When can Barnes be cleared to play? Has anyone been officially identified as being in "close contact?"
  23. It will be interesting to see, if he can handle 650 PAs and 155 games.
