  1. I remember getting both. Loved 'em.
  2. So, they did go with 14-12 not 13-13. LOL
  3. They finished one back, last year and improved by more than the Yanks did, and I'm not even sure the Yanks improved. The Rays trading away their 2 aces is the only reason the Yanks are favorites in the AL East. I do think they are the faves but not by much.
  4. They need to redo the seats. Thye are too small and uncomfortable, and down the RF line, they face towards LF/CF not the mound. More and better bathrooms are needed. The place has too much charm and nostalgia to be thought of as a dump.
  5. Not things players experience.
  6. Well, all umps suck, so he's even with the honkies.
  7. The bigger they are the easier they fall.
  8. I just read this after posting my similar post.
  9. They've had tons of injuries the last two year and then signed guys like Kluber & trade for Taiilon. You'd think they'd go after iron men. They already have players under the knife, on the IL or sitting out a few games to start the year.
  10. Yes, but teams maybe not being able to land Correa & Lindor, this winter, may be very interested in Bogey in 2022.
  11. Did anybody else think it odd that Verdugo played LF and Renfroe RF in the last ST'ing game?
  12. Projected line up versus the lefty starter: 1. R Hernandez CF 2. L Verdugo RF 3. R JD Martinez DH 4. R Bogaerts SS 5. L Devers 3B 6. R Renfroe LF 7. S Gonzalez 2B 8. L Dalbec 1B 9. R Vazquez C The LHH Cordero and RHH Arroyo are on the bench with RHH Plawecki. Some possible changes: Vaz may be moved up to #7. Arroyo may start at 2B, but I doubt it. Cordero could start vs a tough lefty (in CF? with EHern at 2B?), but I doubt it.
  13. Sounds about right. If we stay relatively healthy, maybe 82-88 wins. If we do that and things line up well, maybe 84-90. I could also see some things going wrong and ending up with 74-80 wins.
  14. ...making a Bogey opt out more intriguing.
  15. LOL. I don't really disagree, too much, with any of their projections, except I think they have the Yankee catcher score a bit too high. I also think our 1B will do better than 18th. I like Dalbec. I also think 2B and RF (with Verdugo there more often) will do better than fangraphs projects. LF & CF are the real wild cards.
  16. Here's how fangraphs ranks the Sox by positional value: 4. DH (Yanks 2nd) 5. Catcher (Yanks 14th- surprisingly high) 8. 3B (Yanks 15th) 8. SS (Yanks 5th) 10. CF (Yanks 8th- Verdugo with 400 PAs, Duran 210) 14. 2B (Yanks 3rd- Arroyo w more PAs at 2B than EHern+Marwin) 16. RF (Yanks 4th- Renfroe 470 PAs/ Verdugo 150) 17. LF (Yanks 10th- Cordero 400/Marwin 140) 18. 1B (Yanks 9th) Overall: Batting: 30.1 LAD 28.6 HOU 27.9 NYY 26.2 TOR 25.4 MN 23.0 ATL 22.5 SDP 21.1 NYM 21.0 BOS 20.6 OAK 19.1 TBR/CWS Pitching 21.4 SDP 21.3 NYY/NYM 21.0 LAD 18.0 CWS 17.4 WSH 15th BOS at 13.8 (just ahead of the Rays) Total 51.1 LAD 49.2 NYY 43.9 SDP 42.4 NYM 41.0 NYM/TOR 40.2 HOU 39.4 ATL 37.1 CWS 36.1 LAA 35.0 WSH 34.8 BOS 6 AL teams ahead of us, including the Angels 1.3 ahead.
  17. According to fangraphs, here are how they rate the top SP'ers in 2021 Projections: Best aces: 6.3 deGrom 5.5 Cole 5.2 Bieber 4.8 Scherzer 4.4 Bauer 4.2 Bueler, Castillo, Giolito, Nola, Darvish 4.0 Strasburg Teams with 2 pitchers over 4.0: Nats & LAD Teams with most pitchers over 3.0: 3: SDP, LAD, WSK 2: CIN, CWS, PHI Teams with most pitchers over 2.5: 4 SDP 3 LAD, WSH, CWS 2 NYY, NYM, CIN, ATL, MIL, TOR, MN, SEA, HOU Teams with most pitchers over 2.0: 5 SDP 4 NYM 3 LAD, NYY, WSH, CIN, CWS, ATL, PHI, MN, OAK Teams with the most over 1.5: 5 SDP, NYY, STL 4 LAD, NYM, ATL, MN, SEA, OAK, SFG, MIA, KCR 3 WSH, CIN, CWS, MIL, PHI, TOR, LAA, HOU, AZ Teams with the most over 1.0 7 NYY 6 SDP, LAD, NYM, MIL, LAA 5 CIN, NYM, TOR, MN, STL, HOU, TEX, MIA, KCR, AZ, COL 4 CWS, SEA, BOS, CLE, OAK, TBR, SFG, DET, Cubs, PIT (Only the O's make no list. Meany at 1.7 and 2 guys at 0.9.)
  18. Fangraphs has the Nats with a better top 4 or 5 starters. It's the Yankee depth that jumps them over the Nats in their total projected value. Yanks: 5.5 Cole 2.6 Kluber 2.1 Montgomery 1.9 Taillon 1.8 Sevy (1.2 German, 1.1 Garcia) Nats: 4.7 Scherzer 4.0 Strasburg 3.7 Corbin 0.9 Lester 0.8 Ross (Fedde 0.3, Armenteros 0.2) Strasburg and Corbin blow away the Yankee starters below Cole. Better to use the depth argument. 4-7 starter values: Yanks 6.0 Nats: 2.2 Top 3: Nats: 12.4 Yanks: 10.2
  19. 48 hours to make asses of ourselves... One thing we all are pretty good at.
  20. With a 26 man roster, a 2 man bench seems wrong. (I disliked it when they had 25 man rosters, but at times, 13 pitchers were needed.)
  21. Agreed, but if he keep hitting like a maniac, he'll be up sooner than later.
  22. But, I thought they said 13-13 for a bit...
  23. That could be it, right there.
  24. Agreed, but I'd still prefer at least slightly more games in CF for EHern than 2B. The Cordero-Renfroe platoon in LF looks real good, to me. Cordero can play extra (non-platoon) games in CF when EHern is at 2B, and Renfroe can play some non-platoon games in RF as Verdugo rests- giving Cordero a few games in LF (off-platoon).
  25. I had my yearly physical, and my doctor suggested I get the test done right there at the office, for free. I asked why I needed it, and he said it will let me know, if the vaccine worked. I thought it was strange, but it was just a pin prick on a finger, so I went with it.
