  1. The guy started hitting. Wake up the echoes!
  2. Today on the farm: Worcester split 2 games Duran 1-6 Wilson with his 9th HR Cordero 2-6 Arroyo 0-1 Portland won 1- the other was rained out. Bello 4.2 IP 2 ER (2H, 0BB, 5K) Castellanos 3-4 with 8th HR Rosario 1-4 with 7th HR Casas 2-4 Greenville is up 16-3 after 6 T Reed 2-4 with 2 HRs (12th & 13th) Cannon 2-5 with 6th HR Dearden 2-3
  3. I'm not sure the date he returns is the main issue, but I agree, he will not start, until they think it's safe. I'm not sure, if this is what "did in" Sale in 2018, but he missed a start or two in early August and returned on August 12th. 5 IP 12 K 0 BB 1 H Only 68 IP He ended up missing a month after that and came back to pitch very limited innings afterwards. His velo chart shows he pitched harder that game than any other game all year. In 2019, his last 2 starts, he K's 25 in 14.2 IP and pitched 108 pitches in his last start on 8/13.
  4. Pitches per IP 15.2 Barnes 15.3 Houck 15.9 Eovaldi 16.2 Perez 16.3 Whitlock 16.7 Taylor 17.1 ERod 17.2 Workman 17.4 Richards 17.9 Andriese & Valdez 18.0 Pivetta & Ottavino 18.2 Sawamura 19.0 DHern 19.5 Rios
  5. Big change from the 5 big black holes we had in April and 4 in May & June.
  6. All 5 have 75 or more innings pitched, this year. Only 39 AL starters have that many. Nate is 4th with 98 Nick is 22nd with 85 Garrett is 27th with 82 Eduardo is 32nd with 79 Martin is 39th with 76 ERA 3.41 Eovaldi 4.04 Perez 4.43 Pivetta 4.96 Richards 5.83 ERod
  7. Don't look now, but Renfroe is now part of the big 4, or we can now call them the big 5. .941 Devers .941 Bogey .934 JD .804 Renfroe .782 Verdugo .754 Arroyo .728 Kike .693 Dalbec .668 Plawecki .665 Vazquez .606 Chavis .594 Gonzalez .580 Santana Keep an eye on the third group: one or more maybe create a big 6 or 7!
  8. Kudos to MVP. The mojo is risin’ & risin’.
  9. Sale is very smart, too. I’m not expecting him to overthrow or try too hard, but my statement was more about me not being that worried about him regaining form. I do recall him coming back from an injury before and throwing harder than ever and getting hurt after one or two starts.
  10. This will be a good test for the Sox. These two teams play a different brand of ball. Man, we are looking so damn good right now.
  11. I totally agree. My biggest worry is that his super competitiveness causes him to overthrow.
  12. There is still a chance they risk not protecting him.
  13. Danny Santana is throwing a wrench in all our DFA plans.
  14. True, he did not add much on offence last winter, but I think almost every single knowledgable baseball person felt the offence was not going to be an issue. He had added key pieces to the current offence over previous seasons. This is not an attempt by me to take Cashman off the hook. I’ve been thinking he needs to go for several years. I think Boone is more to blame for this years mess.
  15. Makes sense. For all we know, they may think Duran is alreadyML ready, but we’re waiting for the Olympics to end.
  16. I was beginning to wonder if we even protect him from rule 5, so this good news
  17. I don’t think anyone is expecting Cordero to stun us, except maybe in a bad way for some. To me, it’s more about being the time or close to the time to give up on Santana. Cordero is going to get another shot. We traded Beni for him, but that is not the only reason he’ll get another chance or two or three. He has shown signs of being a plus over his spotted career- majors and minors. If the Sox deemed Duran ready, I’d prefer him over Cordero, and not just because we need OF more than 1B, IMO.
  18. He’s been fantastic!
  19. I agree with everything, here, but Cashman did bring in Paxton, then Cole, then Kluber. Much of the pen is from ‘outside.” Stanton was a major get and has done well this year when playing.
  20. 19 games over .500 3 up on TB 2 up on HOU & CWS 7.5 upon TOR 8 upon NYY (not counting their game, tonight)
  21. Another win for the good guys!
  22. This year, 15 starts 10 times he pitched into the 5th. He has a 0.00 ERA in the 5th inning. It's the 5.1 that gets him. 6 times he pitched into the 6th and has an 8.31 ERA in the 6th, but surprisingly a .563 OPS against. 1 time he went into the 8th inning (0.00 ERA in the 7th & 8th) Career: 184 GS'd 164 times went into 5th (158.1 IP, so finished it most of the time) 4.32 ERA 136 times into the 6th (116.1 IP, so a little less success) 3.79 ERA 64 into the 7th (47 IP) 6.32 ERA 18 into the 8th (13.1 IP) 4.72 7 times into the 9th (6.1 IP) 2.84 Note: he has 31 IP as a RP'er, so I'm not sure what innings they were. 1028 IP as a starter.)
  23. You ain’t joshin!
  24. Yes, and TB lost, too!
