  1. Close call with ERod. His health over the rest of the season may determine if we offer one.
  2. I think I said he might opt out. I'm on the fence but only because of Schwarber. If we lose JD, we'd be much more likely to find a way to get Schwarber back.
  3. Indeed. Kike, Renfroe and Whitlock were his best winter moves (ML'ers only). Last year's additions that look good, include Arroyo, Pivetta, Valdez & Plawecki.
  4. I'd like him to finish, too, but I'm not sure about afterwards. Also, if it cam down to JD vs Schwarber for 2022, and we could only keep one, I might choose Kyle.
  5. As much as people complain about Cora and Bloom being all about advanced metrics... OPS from our 2 slot .746
  6. What's the QO going to be? (or an estimate)
  7. I'd say no to both.
  8. MLBTR's QO Report: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/08/2021-22-qualifying-offer-candidates.html Ineligible Javier Báez (midseason trade), Kris Bryant (midseason trade), Alex Cobb (previous QO), Nelson Cruz (previous QO/midseason trade), Danny Duffy (midseason trade), Eduardo Escobar (midseason trade), Kevin Gausman (previous QO), Kendall Graveman (midseason trade), Zack Greinke (previous QO), Kenley Jansen (previous QO), Starling Marte (midseason trade), Anthony Rizzo (midseason trade), Max Scherzer (previous QO/midseason trade), Kyle Schwarber (midseason trade), Marcus Stroman (previous QO)
  9. You could take that money, add some to it and get better.
  10. Kinda hope he doesn't. We get a comp pick, right?
  11. MLBTR rates a QO going to ERod as "likely." Your thoughts?
  12. First step. Assuming Arauz back to Woo.
  13. BOS (Eovaldi) v TEX (Allard) NYY (Montgomery) @ ATL (Ynoa) CWS (Lynn) v TOR (Manoah) OAK (Blackburn) v SEA (Gonzales)
  14. I think MVP was just being a hard-ass, which is not like him.
  15. I get your point, but I was asking if you and notin truly didn't know what he meant. No answer, until Notin recently revealed, he did not get the original point.
  16. Not until Arroyo plays 2B and Kike squeezes the OF, and out pops Schwarber to 1B.
  17. Nice line-up. I can't wait to see Arroyo join the team and have one line-up with Arroyo at 2B, Schwarber at 1B and Kike in CF.
  18. AL Standings 77-48 TBR 73-51 HOU 72-52 NYY (WC1) -4.5 ALE 72-53 CWS 70-55 BOS (WC2 Tied) -2.5 NYY/WC1 (-7.0 ALE) 70-55 OAK (WC2 Tied) -2.5 WC2 (-3.5 ALW) 67-58 SEA -3.0 WC2 (behind 2 teams) 64-58 TOR -4.5 WC2 (behind 3 teams)
  19. I'm not saying we shouldn't have put 1975 to 1978, but did you honestly not get the point?
  20. I agree, but if our oldest player is 33, next year, I don't get anyone thinking we have an old team. Even adding a Greinke or Scherzer hardly turns us into an old team. Our key players and their ages: 24 Devers 32 Sale 28 Bogey (1 yr remaining) 33 JD Martinez (1 yr remaining) 31 Eovaldi (1 yr remaining) 25 Whitlock 25 Houck 29 Kike (1 yr remaining) 29 Renfroe 31 Barnes 30 Vaz (1 yr remaining) 28 Pivetta 25 Verdugo 26 Arroyo 24 Duran 28 Taylor 26 Dalbec 33 Sawamura 30 Plawecki This looks like a middle ages, mostly prime team that after next year could look very young to prime.
