  1. Well, I guess if you take away Renfroe’s money it’s not $11M, but yes I can’t grasp the reasoning here.
  2. Is calling some one a name caller being a name caller? Lol I’ve never denied calling out a few names. Mine are rather tame compared to others but maybe I’m just polishing another turd.
  3. Can’t disagree here.
  4. $11M for prospects might be the real reason. It’s hard to grasp this one.
  5. It’s still name calling- something you just called out
  6. The prospect we got for Ottavino was Frank German. Nobody is too excited about him, now, but that does not mean the two we got with JBJ will flop.
  7. "Twisting" like a certain common household large appliance does with your clothes.
  8. Yes. Essentially, it is $10M for year one, if we say good bye, but taking off that $4M for year 2 is significant. $10M/1 $19M/2 $32M/3 Basically, year 2 is just $9M. This is another reason I am seeing these moves being more about 2023 and beyond than 2022.
  9. That's how I see it. I thought we might trade Renfroe. In one scenario, I mentioned doing it to free up some money and space to sign Schwarber, but this deal does not do that. (I was not for signing Schwarber without opening a slot first.) I'm not upset, because of the prospects, but this deal is still weird, and the money part makes it more confusing than the Ottavino deal. Ottavino was better, and he did not have an $8M buy out for the second year. I'm still wondering how much money MIL is paying. It sounds like a minor part, but if it's not, maybe the deal looks better, right now.
  10. There is also 2023. The $8M buy out makes it possible he's back in 2023 (at $4M more than the buy out.)
  11. They were saying DFA or bench him. Same with Dalbec. Same with Franchy.
  12. I wonder exactly how much we are paying. MLBTR... The Red Sox are assuming a decent chunk of guaranteed money down the line
  13. So, we pay JBJ and the new guy to improve on Renfroe? To me, this move (not future ones) is about the prospects, hence the future.
  14. He also hit .814 at age 30 and will only be turning 32 by ST'ing. His .497 OPS in 428 PAs in 2021 is amazingly bad. The 428 PAs is shocking. He once had a slugging % of .498!
  15. Both of the prospects were in Milwaukee's top 20, so I wonder where they fit in our list.
  16. So, it appears it's not about going over the old lux tax line- it's about building beyond 2022.
  17. The prospects might, but I'm kind of in shock.
  18. You are always right.
  19. It's actually more than a year. He has a $12M option for 2023 with an $8M buy out!
  20. Paxton is not making $10M in 2022, unless we turn down his option. There are also 2 separate options: one after '22 and one after '23. MLBTR... He’ll be paid $6MM in 2022. Then he has a $13MM option for ’23; if declined, Paxton gets a $4MM player option. If the ’23 option is picked up, the club has another $13MM option on ’24.
  21. Rule 5 Draft Cancelled. Lock out in place.
  22. Half of my suggested trades on BTV involve Duran.
  23. So, why pay that much for a 4th OF'er? It has to be about the prospects and the future. I had mentioned we might trade Renfroe, but I never expected it to be for a more expensive guy like JBJ.
