  1. I guess 4 rings is not good enough "results" for some.
  2. I think it means he thinks a guy who strikes out 7 in 10 times but gets 3 bloop hits is better than a guy who gets 2 hits every 10 times and line out sharply 8 times. Luck counts more than skill.
  3. Maybe, but I doubt one game would stir the pot. Arroyo is clearly better at 2B than SS, and Story is better at SS than Arroyo. I'm not bashing Cora for the choice, but just stated it "was an option."
  4. Hill has pitched very well in most of his recent seasons, and some before that, too. It's all about staying healthy. Maybe t6his will be "the year."
  5. I doubt it. Cordero had 23 Ks in 71 ABs, so there's not much difference, there. Maybe, they think Cordero plays a better 1B, or they just felt like he deserved another chance- maybe his last one.
  6. Mets pitched a no hitter, today with 5 pitchers.
  7. Had it all along! LOL
  8. He's slumping, now.
  9. Bello with a little loss of control. 5.1 IP 3 H 2 ER 4 BB 8 K Winckowski pulled early: 2.2 IP 4H 2 ER 0 BB 3 K Padron-Artilles 5.0 IP 4 H 2 ER 3 BB 4 K Bastardo 4.0 IP 4 H 0 ER 2 BB 5 K Games still in progress
  10. Me, too, but this really has to help his confidence.
  11. That sure changed quickly. Oh, the wonders of small sample sizes.
  12. That's why they called him up. That hope.
  13. I doubt his defense improved much in a year.
  14. There was another option: SS Story 2B Arroyo
  15. Exactly, and of the pitchers expected to have meaningful roles on the team, only a few are doing very poorly, as of now: 8.27 Pivetta (1.959 WHIP) 4.85 Hill (1.615) 5.40 Barnes (1.350) .600 Diekman (2.000)
  16. I didn't say "no hitter" or even "no hits."

  18. I like giving Franchy a shot, now. I thought maybe Fritzy, since he can play 1B, but bye-bye Shaw.
  19. Probably by game 100.
  20. Good point. Shaw, Arauz, Refsnyder- yuck! Then, Arroyo and Plawecki are below a .385 OPS, too.
  21. It's truly amazing how many slots we have open, next winter- not just in the rotation. It's rare for teams to sync contracts like this, especially big spending teams. SP1 Eovaldi (our clear ace over the past 2-3 years) SP3 Wacha (pitching like an ace, now) SP5 Hill (not off to a good start) SS Bogey (a top 2 Sox hitter) DH JD (a top 3 or 4 Sox hitter) CF Kike (a top 2 defensive player and top 5 or 6 hitter) C1 Vaz C2 Plawecki RP Strahm (one of our best pen arms, so far) RP Robles (has been used as a closer for some of our games) JBJ's option is so prohibitive, but technically, he could be gone, too. Others like Travis Shaw might be addition by subtraction or gone before winter.
  22. "Scheduled days off" might not mean a plan for so and so to have May 12th off. I bet many managers try to give a guy a day off in the next few days and try to choose the best fit. We don't know a lot of what Cora knows, but on the surface, resting Bogey, yesterday did not make a lo of sense to some of us. Maybe he had some health issue or even told Cora he needed a rest. We don't ever know the full picture. I'm fine with resting guys. I think we might be going overboard some on the amount, but I trust these guys know what they are doing. That being said, it doesn't mean I have to agree with every singular moves management makes to still be happy with the totality of their choices and philosophies. Nothing is ever as black and white as many seem to think it is, except that Stork is a troll. That's clear as day to all of us.
  23. If he's on a season IP limit, then sooner may not be better, but if not, I agree. I'd like to eventaully see Houck as the closer and Whitlock in the rotation, but that might be as far away as 2023.
  24. I'm not against resting, but I think we sometimes choose the wrong tome to do it. All-in-all, I'm still a solid Cora supporter.
