  1. The negativity is over the top. I understand temporary anger, but it is often not enjoyable for me. To each his own
  2. HR Leaders in today's Line-Up: 30 Judge 22 Rizzo 21 Stanton 15 Story 13 Torres 9 Donaldson 9 Carpenter
  3. IMO, if we trade for a 1Bman, Dalbec goes before Cordero, Duran & Refsnyder, unless he heats up before any trades or Kike's return.
  4. They are like vitriol venting vessels.
  5. 1. Refsnyder RF (our new stud) 2. Vaz 1B (OMG!) 3. JD DH (time to wake up the echoes) 4. Bogey SS (keep the echoes awake) 5. Dugo LF (3rd in RBIs- comfortably ahead of JD and X) 6. Story 2B (time to earn your keep) 7. Dalbec 3B (leash is down to its last link) 8. Plawecki C (can he help Kutter negotiate the Yanks line-up?) 9. Duran CF (getting a chance v a lefty) SP: Crawford (Do you believe in miracles? YES!)
  6. I've not given up on any of these young arms, but yes, this was a christening by fire for Bello and Seabold to a lesser extent. I'm hopeful we won't have to count on them for too much longer, particularly down this tough schedule stretch. It seems like our injured players are all taking longer than expected to return. I'm not predicting anything, but I think we get a win, tonight.
  7. I can’t imagine after Wink’s experience, them not doing anything for Seabold.
  8. I'm not all that optimistic about Hill, either, but I would not write him off. He could become a key pen piece down the stretch and maybe allow us to pool our resources to get one solid RP'er rather than 2 decent ones. (Wink might be able to do that, too.)
  9. Hey, look on the bright side: we shut out the Yanks for 2 innings, tonight!
  10. The first 12th of his contract has been a very big disappointment. If it wasn't for the RBI total, we'd be talking about CC, Pablo & Story in the same breath.
  11. Getting awfully tired of watching solo blasts followed by the same guy making outs with men on base. Players going 3 for 4, and the one out was the time we really needed an out. It's just one game, but this is becoming a pattern.
  12. I've been touch'n'go on that thread. A lot of times I join it near the end of the game, after I have caught up on tape delay. I have noticed some winning games, the threads are just 2-3 pages long.
  13. Yes, I thought about that after I clicked "submit," but I think there is reason for optimism on both fronts.
  14. It's like Swi and Stork only coming out after losing streaks. Now that I mention it, where are they?
  15. He may be replaced at the deadline.
  16. Having a lot of players on the IL is rarely exciting, but in our situation, there does seem to be a significant amount of optimistic anticipation about the future of our 26 man roster, this summer (and some improvement in ML ready AAA players, as some decent players will have to be demoted.) Sale Wacha Eovaldi Whitlock Hill Danish Barnes Paxton Kike It's like we are trading for these guys without giving up anything.
  17. Apparently, his lack of comprehension goes beyond just reading and simple logic.
  18. I'm thinking there is less pressure when we are down 5-0, early.
  19. Why does it seem like the pen does much better in games where the starter sucks?
  20. I remember, yes, but back then, I didn't pay much attention to who was who. I just responded to posts. Maybe that was a better way to do it.
  21. Agreed. There is room for both on the budget, but it would cut into Bloom's ability to fill out the rest of the roster, which will have some big holes in need of filling. I doubt he fields a team with Judge in RF, but Downs/Arroyo at 2B or SS (wherever Story does not play), Casas./Cordero/Dalbec at 1B and some combination of Wink, Seabold, Bello or Crawford in the rotation replacing 2 or 3 of Nate, Wacha & Hill. IMO, if we extend Devers, this winter, we will spread out the rest of the winter spending budget to build a more deeper team, instead of a top heavy one. Just my opinion.
