    It helps that nobody has missed extended time, and that allows for a rotation. I'm not expecting that continue.

    I've suggested trading Kike several times, recently on BTV. I once said he had the greatest defensive season by a Sox OF'er in my memory, and you stretch that to idolization. Most of the time I talk about Kike is when defending him against your and other's insults and put-downs. And, yes, your disdain is obvious and constant.

    I doubt we are sellers & buyers, but yes, I did bring it up a few times. I can't see Bloom trading Bogey, even if he really wants to improve the longer outlook as his top priority.     Yes, I was. I believe there is less than a 1% chance Bogey is traded at the deadline, even if we are 5 down in the last WC slot race by that time.

    If we go 7-7 or 6-8, we will still b e firmly in the race. A pummeling is possible, and yes, moods swing on a dime, here.

    These are big 14 games, but no 14 games decides anything. Did we not learn from what just happened, this year. We were all but written off by many on this site, then in 3-4 weeks, we had the best WC record in the AL. That can happen again, after these 14 games- in August- in September...

    Yup. I had Mayer ahead of Casas the day we drafted him. Bello might have jumped him in my rankings, even if Casas did not get hurt.

    Boone did not get better. The team did, and they are much more healthier than years past.

    The Cards need a SS, and they’ve been known to spend big on shiny objects from time to time. The Phillies and Giants might be in on the bidding. More teams might be involved, if Bogey agrees to play 2B or 3B right away.

    The Cordero-Dalbec platoon is pretty close to our RF situation, IMO. The D in RF equals the O at 1B and evens them out. I do agree 1B is ahead of RF/CF, but I don’t think it’s by all that much.

    There is just about zero chance we trade Bogey or any FA to be we need, and with so much money coming off the books, we should be able to spend a lot, this winter to keep or replace the big holes we will have. Judge does seem like the big prize, but there will be some heavy bidding war on him. There are some other very nice choices out there...     With Kike’s season in doubt, and JBJ back under .570, I think it’s a toss up between getting a renatl1Bman or CF/RF. We may get both plus RPer or two.

    Seems like a destiny season. Even Boone can't blow it up. One good thing coming out of a Yankee WS win would be that Boone would get several more years to help the Sox out.

    I felt that the minute I heard we signed Story. I don't think Bogey gets what you think. He's not a plus defender and may move positions shortly after signing.

    We’ll see. If he gets anywhere near that, it won’t be with the Sox.

    I don’t, and I doubt any GM offers him that for more than 3-4 years. I think his ceiling is $27M x 5-6 years, but I’m far from an expert on these things.

    1.130 OPS Against in the last 4 weeks (38 PAs Against)- worst on the team (25+ PA samples).

    Yes, that's why I said that. Bogey for Judge and then acquiring Iggy would be great. (Not happening, but it highlights your point.)
