  1. Regurgitation is not appealing. That being said, we do need a stronger offense to think of ourselves as top contenders. We agree on that, for sure.
  2. Romy was not bad vs RHPs in 2025, either. He was the same as Rafaela v R, so he might be better at 2B, in theory- full time. They both had similar DRS and OAA at 2B.
  3. Nope. 7.3 Judge's est fWAR Yanks 47.4 TOR 46.5 BOS 44.2 BAL 43.1 (just 4.3 from NYY)
  4. They also have these projected games 111 Roman (122 wRC+) 105 Contreras 115 100 Abreu 114 99 Story 92
  5. Unless we have a 1B or DH injury, Romy is better at 2B than Rafaela, when factoring O+D.
  6. I think you have to consider that when you have a great pitcher on the mound, he faces every batter, while in the game. That is an enormous value. A great batter might get 3-5 chances, buy he can also be pitched around. I know you are talking about all batters vs all pitchers, so PAs for the offense are in general close to PAs against, so it seems "equal," but I feel having great pitchers, because the face all batters, seem to matter more. Of course, offense matters, and it matters, a lot, but when we have Crochet on the mound, I'm not worried about the opps O.
  7. ...and if Romy gets hurt, they do? Just razzin' you!
  8. He's younger, so I feel "safer" with Ranger- whatever that's worth. We really needed a 3Bman more than a #2 SP'er, once we got SGray, so that's where I see the rub.
  9. I can agree on this, but I wasn't the one who stated this by saying one was.
  10. Well, e had DHam/Romy, Sogard... The real reason we used Ceddanne at 2B was because we had 4 OF'ers.
  11. And batting involves the opposing pitcher and defenses. I can see saying batting= pitching + defense, but a good batter can also hurt the defense. A DH does nothing when the opps are up.
  12. That's one view. I do know when the odds are set on games, the pitcher matters most. Yes, defense is part of the pitching aspect of the game, but the pitchers face about the same amount of batters as the batter face opposing pitchers. It's the same argument you hear about what a pitcher shouldn't win MVP, despite some facing 800-850 batters in a season. That's far above the record for most PAs by any batter in MLB history. Crochet faced 814 batters in 2025.
  13. Good points about ES being a DH only. He's not really worth it for just that.
  14. We still have the same or better depth than most teams. I guess that will never be enough.
  15. The Yanks are one injury away. What's the point? Besides, I like our depth as much or more than most teams, especially Romy, our 4th OF'er and 2nd, 3rd and 4th string DH.
  16. THere are three types of teams in mLb Teams with a top 3 pitching Teams that are trying to improve their pitching Jokes
  17. Maybe they misjudged the idea that Breggie was going to sign with the Cubs, unless the Sox adjusted their offer. Maybe they just held firm on the no trade clause. I'm not sure which one is worth, but both are wrong. There is a chance they viewed Suarez as about the same as Bregman and just decided signing Suarez with out the no trade clause was a better fit. I kinda feel better about Suarez for 5 than Breggie, so I'm not going to complain. It does make me shake my head and wonder, though.
  18. That's how I see it, and if we feel we can afford to trade from our rotation depth just give them Crawford, instead of the downgrade from Bello to Arrighetti. Sandoval's contract matches up with Paredes, but he's far from an equal trade. I doubt the think Sandoval + Sandlin = Paredes, and they really need an OF'er most of all. Would you trade K Campbell straight up for IP?
  19. Paredes is a solution, but I think Brez is trying to keep Duran (and maybe Bello) to get him. This is not a bad line-up: 1. L Anthony LF 2. R Contreras 1B 3. L Duran DH 4. R Paredes 3B 5. L Abreu RF 6. R Story SS 7. L Mayer/R Romy 2B 8. R Narvaez C 9. R Rafaela CF
  20. It doesn't. In theory, if we found a way to dump Masa and a chunk of his salary, we could trade Duran for Paredes plus and then sign ESuarez to DH. 1. R Contreras 1B 2. L Anthony LF 3. R Paredes 3B 4. R E Suarez DH 5. L Abreu RF 6. R Story SS 7. L Mayer 2B/ R Romy 2B 8. R Narvaez C 9. R Rafaela CF
  21. I do not see it as DFA to squeeze King in. He'd be our 3rd best RP'er- same as Abreu. (Sousa- maybe.) We could also do a Tristan Gray type trade, or add DHam, Kelly, Uberstine, Drohan or Sandlin to the trade, if the 40 man roster balance is key.
