  1. I never understand why they don't do this in October, or if known before, the day after we were eliminated from playoff contention.
  2. On Correa per MLBTR... Jon Heyman of the New York Post clarifies the vesting provisions for Correa’s options (Twitter link). Correa would need 575 plate appearances in 2028 to automatically vest his $25MM option for the 2029 season. That number drops to 550 in 2029 (in order to vest his 2030 option), 525 in 2030 (to vest his 2031 option) and 502 in 2031 (to vest his 2032 option). The Athletic’s Dan Hayes tweets that the Twins can still pick up any of the club options on Correa if he doesn’t meet the criteria for plate appearances. Correa will also have a full no-trade clause, per Heyman. Makes me wonder why the Mets did not offer something like this.
  3. Apparently, the Mets would only guarantee half the contract- about $157M. The Twins offered $43M more guaranteed! I was kinda hoping to see Correa in the NL, but at least he's not a Yankee.
  4. Maybe waiting for the Correa shoe to drop? Looks like it just did with a stomp on the Mets.
  5. I wonder what kind of medical riders the Giants and Mets were insisting on. They must have been major. It looks like the Twins made out very well, assuming to IL time over the leg issue.
  6. Wow! That's what many felt Bogey should have gotten.
  7. How rich people get off free with so much evidence really exposes a giant hole in our legal system. Poor people, with much less evidence are routinely imprisoned for doing less than this sicko did.
  8. I think the non shift numbers are being looked at, closely, but there is some gray area, because SSs will still be playing right at the line behind 2B and not really at their normal SS spot.
  9. Perhaps a team like the Red Sox are telling him not to sign, yet, because they are working on a trade, and if it doesn't come through, they will bid on him. Do they say things like this to agents? Would Andrus take $13M/1 from the Sox over $20M/2 elsewhere? Or, $27M/3?
  10. I do worry about Andrus on D. Is he really an upgrade on defense? He has mixed metrics. We can guess Bogey's D without the shift will get worse, but what about Andrus? DRS -9 2019 -3 2020 -10 2021 -4 2022 UZR/150 +2.2 2019 -11.5 2020 (short) -0.5 2021 +4.7 2022 Bogey -9 -4 -5 +5 +0.8 +0.2 +2.3 +4.7
  11. Yes, cots has it at $30.1M on the tax budget and still has is $15M under the line.
  12. They could probably find a place for Rafaela and Sanchez, but they'd need to be convinced Rafaela's offense is for real. I doubt anyone is convinced of that.
  13. We could trade for M Rojas, who has 1 year at $5M. I doubt he'd cost a lot in return: maybe Duran or something like Dalbec and Murphy. There are a few other 1 year SSs out there.
  14. He hasn't gotten a free pass. Some have roasted him, here, and wondered why we traded for a guy like him. I'm not sure he intentionally exposed himself, but he ended up pleading no contest to a reduced 2nd-degree misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
  15. I've heard nothing about them looking to dump salaries, either, but they may be able to be talked into it. They probably don't view Dugo as an O upgrade player- not Duran. I do think they might take Duran for Rojas. I'm just so keyed into us trying to get a young SP'er, that I'm trying to force square pegs in round holes.
  16. So, cots has us with about $15M to spend and still be under the tax line. That is certainly enough to sign Andrus, but my guess is he wants too many years, and we are looking for a 1 year bridge to Mayer.
  17. Agreed, unless they want to shed A Garcia's contract, any deal would have to start with Rafaela or Bleis, and I'm holding onto Bleis.
  18. No, that's a pipedream, unless they value Duran like BTV does. I do think they'd like Verdugo over Garcia and his contract. Depends what they think they could do with the money saved.
  19. They must know they will trade 1-2 of their starting pitchers.
  20. If we could extend him at a reasonable rate, I'd consider giving up his value in return, but otherwise, no. I'd consider trading Verdugo, Duran and Dalbec for Lopez, Rojas and Garcia, but only if we can stay under the tax line.
  21. SS Targets: FA: Andrus, Iggy Trade: A Rosario, M Rojas, I Kiner-Falefa, B Crawford, N Ahmed (all 1 year left) W Adames (2 years) J Mateo (3 years) Forget acquiring a 2Bman. Let's get a SS bridge to Mayer.
  22. Yes, that is the most important question to you. It says it all... about you.
  23. You called the team a turd. I did not misquote you.
  24. There are too many 1 year SSs on the trading block for us not to grab one. I'd prefer M Rojas from the Marlins, because I don't think he'd cot much. I'd give up Duran for him, and I think they want an OF'er. I know it's 5 years for one, but Rafaela should be ready, soon. Our bench would be Wong, Arroyo, Refsnyder and Dalbec or EValdez. I could see us trading Dalbec, too. Maybe Dalbec and Seabold for Rojas? Or, Dalbec for Michael A Taylor, and we'd have a deeper OF bench and Arroyo as IF depth..
  25. No. Someone mentioned Bauer and McGuire. This about McGuire.
