  1. Agreed, and I still have to think Duran's value to another team as a LF'er or CF'er is worth more than the upgrade from Masa to Duran as our DH is.
  2. We are much better off with Rafaela in CF & Abreu in RF. Anthony should be better in LF than Duran.
  3. sp.com projects Gray making the 26 on their recent podcast but not on their page.
  4. We have Contreras already on the 26, so we are better off than years past. We may add a minor league guy before opening day.
  5. ...and LF'ers are routinely underscored due to the short field.
  6. Maybe Contreras, one of the most honest men in MLB. Very fitting nickname! LOL.
  7. Stating facts that counter someone's point made, while saying I'm pissed at JH, too is not apologizing. When I respond to posts like this, you accuse me of repeating the same thing over and over, and it's precisely because of you I have to repeat myself. No, there is nothing wrong with defending JH, and some do. If some of my statements sound like I am, so be it. I don't see it that way. I am glad he took over the team and brought us 4 rings, but I'm not happy with the major cutbacks on spending- sometimes when it looks like the window is wide open. I'm not trying hard to deny something I don't believe, but go on pretending you know my beliefs all you want. It's what you do best.
  8. Yes, that's my point. We can argue that Brez messed up, if we want, but Ranger cost about the same as Bregman (after deferrals) and Contreras + Gray cost about as much as Alonso. How can we not be cheap, if we signed Alonso & Bregman but are cheap for paying the same for Ranger, Contreras & Gray? Were we cheap, last winter, because our $21M picther sucked? We spent over $40M on pitching: Buehler, Sandoval, Chapman & Wilson and $40M on Bregman. JH has been a miser, and probably will be again. I was not happy with that. He just has not been one for two winters.
  9. Add two more choices: All of the above (2019-2024, yes, as well as sporadic times beforehand.) None of the above (2025-2026 yes, none of the above applies.)
  10. You should be asking who keeps misrepresenting my views and motives as being apologetic, so I have to keep saying this as a disclaimer. BTW, the answer is you and a few others.
  11. Duran should DH over Masa v RHPs. The other 3 OF'er should play FT, so there is not much room for Duran in the OF, unless an injury occurs. Rafaela has reverse splits, so he is not a prime platoon partner with Duran or Abreu.
  12. Because we have a need at 3B and 2B right now, in case you didn't notice. It depends on who we add- a 2Bman or 3Bman, and Mayer will be expected to play the other slot.
  13. Narvaez had decent minor league stats, especially OBP (.371 in AAA) & decent power (about 20 HRs per 650). It's hard to know "who he is" as a batter, so I'm okay with getting insurance. No doubt, Narvaez dropped off from his pretty hot start to the season, but.... .719 first 96 games .756 last 22 games This shows maybe he's a .725-.750 batter for real. While I do think Wong's 2024 offense was not sustainable, I think his injury contributed to a worse then who he is 2025 season.
  14. I think he will be. If he starts the season on the IL, then there is room for all 3 non option RP'ers.
  15. He Ks way too much, but Ks dont bother me, if they guy produces. At age 26, Baty projected to 26 HRs per 650. While a .748 OPS is not great, it's better than average and way better than DHam, Sogard and Eaton. I know- I know, trading Duran for someone better than those 3 should never be a goal. LMAO
  16. I can see Harrison and Crawford both starting the season in the pen, and that would put a serious crunch on the non-option RP'ers like Moran & Hicks and Rule 5 guy Watson. 1, Chapman 2. Whitlock 3. Slaten 4. Weissert 5. Crawford 6. Harrison 7-8. Moran, Watson & Hicks (one has to go or someone to the IL on opening day.) Sandoval has to start on the IL, too, or else he or Oviedo becomes a pen piece. Both have an option, according to sp.com, but I'm not sure we demote one, unless they look bad in ST'ing. AAA: Kelly, Sandoval or Oviedo, Sandlin (SPer?) & Samaniego (all on the 40)
  17. I agree, and as much as I won't cry if any of our bottom 5 guys get DFA'd, I think all have value enough to be able to trade for a not 40 man prospect. Then, there are Hicks and Masa. I keep thinking of ideas like Duran + Hicks for Baty, but I know those ideas are pipedreams.
  18. Are you implying a broken leg might work?
  19. Mentioning Mayer's arm makes me also think he could be the solution to our decade long 2B problem, too. I'm biased for Jovani for some reason. I'd DFA Hicks (not happening) or Eaton. I might even prefer to send Watson back, but I know very little about him. I'm not super high on Uberstine, Drohan or Kelly, either. Any of these guys could be DFA'd or traded and I would not blink an eye.
  20. It's more like I don't agree with somethings Cora does and does not do, but I'm 100% fine with him as our manager. It's not all black and white to me. Several times I suggested different line-ups, but Cora's worked, so yes, there are times I disagreed and Cora was not wrong: I was, or he lucked out. An example of what can be called "grey area." Not black and white/ right and wrong.
