  1. They are estimating how many minor leaguers get bumped up to MLB pay for X amount of time. There are other factors I'm sure we haven't thought about. Your point was one I forgot about. This is not an exact science. I think the Sox even messed up on their calculations the year they went over by about $1M.
  2. Fine. He can back up Anthony, too in LF, and When Abreu sits, move Anthony to RF and have Duran in LF. I'm still counting Duran as the FT DH (4th OF'er) If everyone is healthy, they should all get 600+ PAs. Assume 700 PAs per slot: LF: Anthony 600 & Duran 100 CF: Rafaela 650 & Duran 50 RF: Abreu 650 & Anthony 50 DH: Duran 550 (+150 OF) Of course, we won't see perfect health, but this is the template I'd use.
  3. This is better but trending the same way: '22 +5 DRS '23 +2 DRS '24 -2 DRS '25 -4 DRS This is Paredes at 3B. Also... OAA: +2> 0> -1> -3
  4. I'm not sure the number changes much, the more minor leaguers you call up, as one usually just replaces another and you add and then subtract about the same cost. Now, if you end up with 15 guys on the IL, then you have more minor leaguers making MLB pay than estimated.
  5. I'm thinking they must believe his defense it just too awful to keep him at 2B. Trading an OF'er makes his path a little easier, but he'd need an injury to play FT- or another OF'er trade. If we trade Duran, our OF is under team control for 4 years or more! Maybe he ends up at DH, since we all know that slot is not logjammed... LOL!
  6. OF defense.... Anthony> Duran Rafaela > Duran Abreu> Duran It's not a fact, and with Cora, nobody knows. I state it as my opinion.
  7. What's "tier 2?" Maybe 30-60th? 300+ PAs 2025 wRC+ 15 Anthony 57 Contreras 59 Romy 108 Duran 113 Abreu 2024-2025 (600+ PAs) 30. Contreras (top of tier 2) 56 Duran (does make tier 2 group) 89 Abreu (just makes the tier 3 group) I'm not posting this to show we don't need a bat, because WE DO NEED A BAT, BADLY!!!!
  8. Agreed. He won't every become "capable" at one position, if they keep jerking him around. The thing is, even if we trade Duran, the OF is still blocked. 2B does seem like the best "lane" in terms of team needs. The OF might be his best chance at being "capable," or else he'll end up a DH, assuming he regains his hit tool.
  9. We've added a few catchers "down the line." That can't be a bad thing.
  10. We simply have to make this happen. The good thing is, that the desperation factor applies to HOU as much as us. We both have logjams that need clearing up. We both have high needs at the same area the other has the logjam. No brainer, here.
  11. I really don't see a better and clearly available target than Paredes. If he's a little below average on 3B defense, maybe Contreras at 1B and Mayer/Romy at 2B can make the overall infield defense a little better than 2025. If the OF stay healthy, and we don't need to use Rafaela at 2B, the OF should improve (LF Anthony/ CF Rafaela/ RF Abreu FT.) It's going to be hard to improve on the 2015 DH slot, since Devers was there for 300+ PAs, but with Duran, Masa and Romy there, we should be okay.
  12. Paying Hicks, too sucks. Good site. Clean & clear.
  13. It will be interesting to see what position he plays in ST'ing. Gotta be LF or 2B (maybe both.)
  14. soxprospects.com slotted OF'er Garielvin Silverio IFA signee at #34. Is he our new "PASSWORD?" Or, could it be #35: Dawvris Brito SS
  15. Brez has had a busy winter with trades- mostly prospects, although not many higher level ones. He's also added a few... Gone: 4. Perales (Bennett) 8. Clarke (S Gray) 10. Fajardo (Contreras) 25ish? T Gray (Guerrero) >later> traded for Nate Baez 33. Aita (Contreras) Added: 6. Jake Bennett (Perales) 21. Ryan Watson (Reimer/Rule 5) 29. Samaniego (w Oviedo & A Guzman for JhGracia & Travieso) 31. Adonys Guzman (w Oviedo & Samaniego for JhGracia & Travieso) 32. Luke Heyman (Hoppe) 50. Isaiah Jackson (Grissom) N/R Ronny Hernandez (Murphy) N/R Braiden Ward (Bernardino) N/R Nate Baez (T Gray)
  16. There must be at least 50 shades of Gray, as well as 50 ways to leave your borderliner.
  17. One year of Peralta, but maybe they extend him.
  18. I seems better on D than the metrics show, but I don't think they can be that wrong.
  19. That must have been hard for you to say, even jokingly! 🤪
  20. BTV rejected Crawford & DHam for Paredes! LOL! (Major overpay, when I took DHam out.) Other trades accepted: Bello for Paredes and B King Bello & Sandlin for Paredes, Sousa & Janek Bello, Hicks & $6M for Paredes & Abreu Campbell & Sandlin for Paredes
  21. I think Paredes has a better OPS than Bregman & Bichette in 2026 and maybe even Alonso & possibly Schwarber.
  22. Thanks for the breaking front page news. On the back pages: Sox made room to sign another bum pitcher.
  23. Anthony has our top projected OPS at .801. (#36 in MLB)
  24. It's not a good thing to have your top wRC+ projected player be #38 (Anthony at 122,) but what may be worse is that your second guy is #80 (Contreras at 115.) 114 Abreu is at #90, so he barely gives us 3 in the top 90 (38, 80, 90) 110 Yoshida at #114 gives us 4 in the top 120, which is the norm. 107 Duran is at #150, which give us exactly the norm of 5 in 150. We need help on O. The Yanks just brought Bellinger back.
