  1. 3-4 good ones are available via trade. There is enough for all to get one.
  2. I'm not saying we'll do it, but that $700M would be better spent on 3 pitchers than just Ohtani, so yes, I'd complain if we spent $700M on one guy.
  3. He's not worth half that. That $700M could get us Yamamoto, Snell and Monty.
  4. Then, he started him at MI over 35% of his starts.
  5. How many potential owners are out there that will spend significantly more than JH? Next question, JH will not sell to the guy who will spend tge most on the budget. He will sell to he one who pays him the most. Be careful what you wish for.
  6. I’ve given up hoping. I think it’s all a sham. That being said, things can still change. I’ll believe it when I see it.
  7. I doubt the run ins with Cora was the main reason we traded the glorified platoon OFer with one year left.
  8. I would prefer we get a tier 2 guy or two. My point was that we may not out bid others for the remaining good 3-4 SPers left. Leaving us with a best hope of 3 not 2 of the ne t best group. The sham may continue.
  9. As always, yes. They could sign Yamo, Bellinger and Monty and still miss out.
  10. The idea of thinking maybe getting 3 third tier SP'ers might become our best hope for significant rotation improvement. 3 from... Stroman, Imanaga Lugo, Clevinger, Giolito, Wacha Or, two from above plus one of... Paxton, Flaherty, Mahle or maybe Montas
  11. More than a billion dollars for two players: Ohtani and Mookie! While money is differed, it essentially comes to about $100M a year. That is about the same or more than about a third of MLB teams.
  12. So... Yamo to NYM, TOR, NYY? Snell to TOR, NYY? Monty to NYY or BOS? Lugo to BOS?
  13. I meant to say 1 and 3/4: LAD 1, TOR 1/2 and CHC 1/4.
  14. It's hard to imagine the Jays or Cubs offering $680-690M, so WTF????
  15. True, but my guess is they see a spike in attendance, cable subscriptions and Ohtani Dodger jerseys.
  16. Maybe Kershaw will finally pitch for another team. I'd love to see him sign with the Sox for 1 year wit a team option.
  17. He will draw fans and viewers, but Holy Sweet Jesus! I thought $500M/12 was too much. I did not want the Sox offering any more than $280M/12. He nearly tripled that!
  18. I'm glad Ohtani is in the NL. I wonder if Kershaw is up for grabs, now.
  19. Yes, it is. It is a major concern. He costs $5.5M/1. That makes the risk small. We don't hear much about Duvall starting just 162 games in 2022 and 2023 combined. We all seem fine with signing him.
  20. Jon Gray? Martin Perez?
  21. $700m/10 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. So, 1 and 3/4.
  23. Hey, you got my point!
  24. 2021-2023 .255 57 159 in 306 gms (1186 PAs) O'Neill .800 OPS ($5.5M) .221 71 207 in 324 gms (1123 PAs) Duvall .766 OPS ($8-9M x 1 or 2 years?)
  25. So, he maybe "used" roids 12 years ago, and that causes foot and knee injuries? 480 PAs in A+ & Fall league in 2015 (at 20 years old) 564 in AA/Fall in '16 557 in AAA in '17 415 in AAA and MLB as a back up in '18 341 in '19 bouncing between MLB, AAA and AA 157 in the COVID season of '20 537 in 2021- his "big year" 383 in '22 297 in '23 (counting 31 in AAA rehab)
