  1. Sox WHIP Leaders 0.99 Martin 1.16 Crawford 1.20 Sale 1.23 Pivetta 1.23 Jansen 1.25 Bernardino 1.28 Bello 1.31 Paxton 1.34 Houck 1.37 Schreiber 1.40 Whitlock 1.43 Winckowski
  2. All our good longmen are in the rotation or on the BL/IL. Sale was yanked early and rightfully. Pivetta was not available. Llovera went 3, last night We had: Jansen and Martin for late That left: Schreiber (pitched 2 IP on Wed. but was available) Winckowski Bernardino (pitched last night and the game before) Jacquez Weiss
  3. Losing our 2 best, and really only significant RH'd bats in JT and Duvall, does make adding a RH'd bat to CF or RF make sense. We could even bring Duvall back to play mostly RF and be insurance against a Rafaela struggle in CF. I can see Dugo being traded. What Dugo brings back in trade is not going to be ground-shaking, unless part of a larger package. If somehow we can get a solid SP'er for Dugo and some prospects not named Mayer, Anthony or Teel, I think we have to pull the trigger. One problem is a team wanting Dugo's 1 year deal is probably not looking to add prospects while giving up a solid SP'er. Maybe 3 teams would be needed: Dugo to team A Prospects from team A and from the Sox to team B Team B sends a solid SP'er to the Sox I'm not talking an ace, here, unless top prospect(s) are involved.
  4. RBI+ Runs-HRs 154 Turner 143 Devers 122 Yoshida 118 Verdugo 102 Casas 81 Wong (331 PAs) 78 Duran (332 PAs) 74 Duvall (in about half the PAs as those above, except Duran & Wong) XBHs 63 Devers 53 Dugo 51 Turner 47 Yoshida 45 Casas 44 Duran 42 Duvall 35 Wong AB/HR 14.4 Duvall 17.9 Devers 17.9 Casas 21.4 Turner 23.0 EValdez 31.0 Urias 32.3 Yoshida 34.0 Abreu 36.8 Wong 38.0 Dugo 41.5 Duran
  5. After such an offensive output, today (pun intended,) here are the team OPS leaders: 300+ PAs .852 Casas .848 Devers .835 Turner .828 Duran (332 PAs) .803 Yoshida .785 Dugo .729 Wong (331) Seems like such a waste of a well-balanced and deep offense. Under 300 PAs 1.059 Rafaela .980 Abreu .878 Duvall .748 Reyes .721 EValdez .689 McGuire .677 Urias .673 Refsnyder .529 Story
  6. Too bad, we still didn't have Brasier and Littell. We could have gotten an ace for Dalbec and those two! LOL
  7. With a BB, too. The team had 23 hits and 2 BBs in the loss.
  8. Exciting game, but we need a win!
  9. Can Yoshi gain some respect, here?
  10. Like I said, Cora is a genius for pulling JT.
  11. I meant to mention, at the time, why PR for JT, when he may have gotten a key PA, later.
  12. 20 freaking hits and Abreu getting on base in all 5 PAs.
  13. Agreed, but today's game does not really fit on that. Loading the bases did give us a shot. they could have been meaningful hits.
  14. Texas beat #3 Alabama. Other top teams romped. ND beat a real team, but #11 Texas will pass us. I'm not sure we pass ALA.
  15. The worst part of that was not even being untrue, but Berrios did not do all that well, and Duran is looking okay, now. (Remember, the Berrios 2022 extension is not part of the trade.)
  16. Imagine we signed Scherzer not Price, which would have also have led to no Pablito & Hram.
  17. That's exactly what we all said about Whitlock. I'm sure he'll get a look. I'd prefer we add pitchers who have already proven they can go 5+ for 25+ starts, and keep guys who are proven to be good in the pen in the pen. No, "just add SP'ers" does not need to be $10M/1 guys, this coming winter. We really ONLY need SP'ers. We can get by without adding anything else but 2-3 solid SP'er.
  18. The season in a nutshell.
  19. Not singling out Wong, here, but how many times do we see a Sox hitter get a couple hits early in a game, then go oh for with men on base, alter in the game?
  20. Time for Casas to bring down the house!
  21. Imagine, if we could actually use Crawford, Houck and Whitlock in the roles Weiss and Llovera played, today. Can we try to set it up, next year, where we can do just that?
  22. So, trade Dugo?
  23. Good post. It's been going on for so long, it's like a given. I, too, hope Bello is a sign of more to come. I do think having Crawford, Wink, Houck and Whitlock as hopefuls is better than the long list of failed Sox prospects since Lester and Buch, but we need better or a continued infusion of guys like Crawford.
  24. I'd take Nimmo, too, but on the budgets we seem to be on, having Nimmo, instead of Yoshi would mean fewer other signings. It's like Nimmo vs Yoshida + Duvall every other year.
