    Probably close to the same as the team was thought to be LAD. I would find it very strange to think maybe we did not seek out all the possible trade parters before choosing the one we felt was the best, at the time. To me, the fact that DD almost traded Betts at the deadline, but hopes of making the playoffs put it off, is clear evidence a trade was already decided on after the 2019 team failed to advance.

    This is worse than the time we traded Lynn, Burly, Lee, Cooper and lost Fisk by not offering him a contract on time? There were other long stretches of little to no hopes.

    Usually, where there are high taxes, there is also a higher cost of living. People often move to places where they can get more bang for their bucks.

    JH spent a lot to build what looked like it should have been a 4-5 year window. The budget for2019 was higher than2018, despite not bringing back Kimbrell & Kelly. That’s what happens when studs move through arbs and close to free agency. I agree with Bell. The 2019 season soured JH. Hell, we came close to a summer fire sale by trading Betts under DD. That is evidence the change was already underway. I expected it to be for a couple years, maybe three, and in some ways the spending has increased a lot, but it got so low, it just looks like a lot. I also think JH is stuck in the 2017 market on some sort or time warp gig.

    I’m not so sure about more playing time, but more likely, yes. Hey, why not just throw the ML ready kids out there and get a better read on who to keep around for the big push in ‘26? Dalbec Gambrell Murphy & Walter’s last look DHam Rafaela & Abreu Kelly and Guerrero Slaten and Mata See if Crawford can start 29+ games Punting can serve other purposes besides better draft picks and bonus pool monies.

    He deserved it, though. He laid out a lot of cash from the Story signing in March ‘22 to March ‘23. Kluber was the highest AAV. Jansen was the largest total outlay. He botched the priority, but yes, it did play into the find a scapegoat plan, very well.

    To me, the comment on offering Yamo more than the Price deal says it all. They wanted to meet with him last to tell him that? It’s so crazy, it’s hard not to laugh without snorting like a pig.

    Bloom misspent. It wasn’t all on JH. The winter budgets of ‘22 and ‘23 were rather large.

    If Ohtani was worth that much money, how much was he worth as a 2 month rental, last summer? The Angels sure botched that non move. Word is, they are high on Snell.
