nah man. i got you. you're right. im an idiot. for the 2018 season i predicted - the yankees were better at every position - the yankees GM is better - the yankees hired the better rookie manager - the yankees SP were better - the yankees relievers were better - the red sox were paper tigers and the lead was based only on weak first half opponents and they would easily be caught in the second half when the yankees would feast on these same opponents. - the yankees july acquisitions were far better than the red sox. - devers should be traded or demoted - JBj is terrible and should be benched. - the red sox lineup was not deep enough to make the postseason and if they do they will not last long. - the yankees would beat the sox in the ALDS - the astros would smoke the sox in the ALCS. you're exactly right. i'm dumb about baseball.

there is zero reason to keep swihart. except that his trade value isn't what DD wants it to be. he is a "throw in" right now. is it worth it to keep him? i dont think so. to me our only needs are: SP RP it would be nice to have RH power/1b (pearce?) it would be nice if pedey can come back (no chance) if we nail down some decent RP and have good depth at SP we will go back to back parade..... book it.

this is a great thread Bell. here is the reply if Slasher9 is the commissioner: 1) game length/pace of play - this needs to be addressed. - replay review: needs to be changed to 60 second review. clock starts when umpire puts on the headset. if NY cannot confirm a call in that time - call on field stands. - pitching changes: 2 warmup tosses when brought into the game middle of an inning. must face 2 consecutive batters (unless new inning starts). - mound visits: i like that they have limited these. no further updates. - pitch clock - rule needs to be implemented/enforced. Once this is in place the batter will not be allowed to call timeout / step out of the box. - robot umps for balls & strikes. this will speed up the game TREMENDOUSLY. no more arguing. no more stepping out of the box and shaking your head for 2 minutes on a call you didnt like. this will be the single most impactful thing to speed up game time. - no more swapping out baseballs for a ball that is hit or a pitch in the dirt. throw the ball back into the pitcher and lets go. 2) stats rule the world now. i dont expect anything to change here. what is nice is that our latest parade was not based strictly on stats but a pretty healthy mix between stats and "gut feel". 3) infield shifts are banned. 2 infielders have to be on each side of second base. 4) if a batter strikes out the next hitter in the lineup only gets 2 strikes. if a player strikes out for the 3rd out of an inning it carries over to the next inning. 5) rule #4 just solved this. 6) I am OK with BP games. if that is how a team wants to do it...so be it. 7) DH is now the rule for all Major League teams. pitcher batting in NL is dead. 8) Robot umps for balls & strikes. game time just decreased by 40 minutes.

Roger Clemens being a pussy with his "blister" pulls himself from the game after 7 innings - Sox give up a run in the 8th. game never goes to extra innings. speaking of the 8th inning run - if we can field a f***ing bunt and get the out at first base there is no Sac Fly for Gary Carter. game never goes to extra innings. every out matters. get those outs and we win this World Series without even going extra innings in Game 6 let alone need to bother playing Game 7.
