i dont think we resign Evo, Kimbrel, or Pearce. we will try and resign Kelly. i expect DD to sign a couple low $ relievers. closer role will be up for grabs in ST. JDM will be platoon 1b with Mitchie. SP will be internal although i can see us doing a Clay type signing for depth.

who knows with these guys. i think it would surprise alot of TS posters to find out that Hanley is a class guy. a huge heart that gives alot back to community. but he has those dreds so.... as for 1b 2019....i dont think we sign anyone. we have Mitchie pooh for 1 more season. JDM will platoon with him next year.

i believe a DH should definitely be considered for the HoF. edgar & Ortiz immediately come to mind as 2 that will be in. i believe a DH should never be considered for MVP. it's a specialist position. like a closer. and i dont believe a closer/RP should ever be considered for MVP. I realize it has happened but i dont agree with it. i believe the Boston Red Sox win the 2018 WS without JDM playing a single game for us. we were that good/complete of a team. we won the division easily. we won the ALDS easily. we won the ALCS easily. we won the WS easily.

i dont believe we can keep all 3. i think all 3 go to FA and someone will outbid us for at least 1 of them. X-Bo & JBj are Boras clients so those 2 will def go to FA.

he's a bargain. i think he made less than $1MM last season. will be very interesting to see how year 2 goes. In 6 or 7 years we may all agree with Moon on him being best evah. -

he will continue to fill the exact same role he has filled going forward (spot starter/long relief) as long as there is no need to get him off the 40 man. although his name is johnson...he will never replace Big Dik Rik as a solid #3 SP. -
i am 100% thinking that JDM will be RH platoon 1b next season. Pearce will not be resigned.

the cliff is coming. thankfully we got a parade this year so i am ok with it. JH will reset in the very near future and it will cause us to lose a couple/few players that we consider "ours"....

also, my original post you replied to may have been slightly confusing. my point was...he already accomplished the playing for the sox thing and winning the ws thing. this next contract is all and only about the cash money.

i think for Pearce the factors will be: $$$ #1 thru #5 (basically nothing else i write after this even factors in) #6 years #7 geography #8 playing time #9 strength of team to make playoff run
