  1. Great job by Taylor and Devers!!
  2. He's pretty awful all right. And stupid. He's also the only reason why the Sox still have a chance to win this game.
  3. Hope you're right. Sox lineup is set for next year with him available--and hopefully Schwarber.
  4. Yeah. I meant Plawecki and identified him on an earlier post. Tonight he did need a little help from the pitching coach, who had to go out and tell him and Eovaldi to fall out of love with Eovaldi's fastball. Fastballs got those two hits, and non-fastballs got the three K's. Non-fastballs also made Arroyo and Renfroe look very foolish.
  5. Those were two very ignominious at bats by Arroyo and Renfroe.
  6. Agree. They don't need to do that for Arroyo, JDM, or Schwarber, however.
  7. What an idiot Cora is. He left Eovaldi in the stupid game. Then he even gave the Astros a free pass to load the bases.
  8. Vazquez is the one calling the pitches. Funny thing about Ted's stupid saying. When he is on the mound, Sale does everything he can not to think. He is totally focused on executing his pitches and leaves the thinking, the selection of pitches, to the catcher. That's called "dumb like a fox."
  9. Well, maybe not Astros pitchers. If they are, the Sox lineup is barely plant life.
  10. Both hits off Eovaldi's high velocity fastball. His has alway been hittable. And apparently Garcia's, which is slower, is unhittable.
  11. 22 consecutive innings while scoring one stinking run.
  12. Well, it's pretty obvious you only have to follow the well-known book on JDM to get him out. That was pathetic.
  13. Perfect pitch to JDM--breaking ball down, missed by a foot.
  14. I say again, the Sox have now gone 21 consecutive innings while scoring exactly 1 run. Not all of that is great Astros pitching. There is some choking going on.
  15. 30 pitches in 3 innings, 77% strikes.
  16. Plawecki is calling a good game and contributing more than anyone else in the lineup. Pick on someone else. He didn't drop a ball for a double.
  17. I thought Valdez pitched a heckuva game--8 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, which means he went through the Sox lineup 3 times. As for game 3, their bullpen was fantastic. Five guys combined for 7.2 scoreless innings. That, however, was also the game in which Bogey doubled with one out and Verdugo and JDM couldn't bring him home and Arroyo tripled with one out and Schwarber and Raffie couldn't bring him him. In that game the Sox had a total of 5 hits, but they also were handed 7 walks. So definitely some choking going on. They were 0 for 9 with RISP. So right now you and I and everyone else are watching a lineup that has now gone 21 consecutive innings while scoring exactly 1 run. That can't all be great pitching. There is some choking going on.
  18. I think I'm right because so far Garcia impresses me. So did the Astros pitchers in the last two games. Plus it's pretty unusual for an entire lineup to go into a slump against lousy pitching.
  19. I'm not sure it's a slump. Garcia is throwing strikes, but not in the center of the zone. He's working the corners with that fastball and keeping the slider low.
  20. Garcia having no trouble from our lineup after 2 innings. This is becoming a familiar tune.
  21. This game looks like the last two games: Sox can't hit fastballs squarely--usually popping them up.
  22. Perfect timing. No way can Renfroe hit into a double play here.
