  1. So nice of you.
  2. Other good news is that Hamilton's OPS in August is higher than Gonzalez's. As long as that's true, I think Hamilton will continue to start against righty starters. 600 is as good as any although there are plenty of examples whose hitting ability was obvious almost from the get go. After 2 horrible months, Pedroia took off like a rocket. I think citing 1076 at bats for Rafaela also makes sense, but I cling to the hope he will improve. We already know Anthony's weakness--low pitches, especially low and inside.
  3. Next up, Bello and Crochet. A sweep would be oh so nice--and timely. Sox hitting continues to be suspect, however. Sox have won 5 of 6 road games in which they gave up 3, 0, 1, 7, 3, and 0 runs.
  4. Yankees lead 5-1 and the Jays 4-2, but Twins threatening in the 7th,
  5. Strip out the 3 phony runs and it was a well-;played ballgame.
  6. Orioles feed on MASN shows the Oriole players postgame congratulations for Bradish.
  7. Agree. He definitely has more stamina than anyone else. Plus he has the proverbial 5 tools. Plus he's the freaking SS!
  8. Another excellent grab by Duran--no "whoopsies." Looks like Giolito is out of gas. His first BB.
  9. That "liner" by Duran needed eyes to fall in safely. Giolito for the 8th? Yes!!
  10. That first foul by Rafaela was tell-tale. He swung at everything, missed nothing, and finally got the double.
  11. Finally. Someone else who actually watched the game. Semi-lucky 7th for Giolito. Napoleon said he'd rather have lucky marshals than smart ones. Send Giolito back out for the 8th!
  12. Giolito catches a break for the K. His changeup is flat when it's up in the zone, but not when it's low. Quality start for Giolito,. It will really help if the Sox could get a run or 2 in the 7th so Giolito could maybe gone one more inning. Akin is a lefty of course.
  13. Never, ever give the other guy credit. After all, this is slow-pitch, right?
  14. Huge advantage to have 2 competent catchers they can rotate like this. Both play rested.
  15. Bradish has better stuff than Giolito, but Gioliito had better control through 4 IP. Then the Orioles started hitting his stuff hard in the 5th because he wasn't hitting the corners any more. Hamilton will likely keep 2b when the opposing starter is a righty.
  16. Agree. 2025 Bello could have been our #1 starter the last 4 seasons. Crochet is a cut above a normal #1. I suspect of talksoxers really want another Crochet as our #2--ERA around 2.50, a bunch of quality starts, a couple of complete games, and of course tied for the MLB lead in innings pitched. By that standard, Bello is nowhere near good enough.
  17. Good laydown. Makes sense. But almost all acquisitions are gambles. Ask the Giants who plummeted after acquiring Devers. Ask the Sox who dumped Sale and acquired Giolito (and a year later Buehler). Sandoval is a gamble for sure. Heck, coming into this season the rotation went haywire.
  18. Same lineup as last night except Narvaez in for Wong and also batting 9th. 2 straight games with Hamilton at 2b instead of Gonzalez.
