  1. Assuming Garcia is a viable Sox outfielder--and that's a big assumption--Anthony can DH against lefty starters with an outfield of Duran, Rafaela, and Garcia. Against righty starters, Garcia sits and Yoshida can DH. I don't have full confidence in Yoshida, but I do have full confidence in Cora.
  2. You do know, I hope,. that Casas is injury free on defense. His first injury was from swinging a bat and his second from running too hard to 1b. I think he is definitely an injury risk. Trading Yoshida means sending along $30M with him. It might be worth it.
  3. We seriously disagree about Hamilton vs Eaton. With Hamilton we know we get good defense and possibly good baserunning. Eaton as DH is a joke. I'm fine with the rest of your lineup.
  4. Mine's cl;ose. I want Narvaez because he caught both of May's good starts. I want 3 lefty bats on general principles--Anthony, Duran, and Hamilton. I want guys who faced Rodon in June--Duran, Narvaez. Gonzalez, Story, Rafaela, and Anthony. I don't want Yoshida. I don't want back to back lefty bats. I want a good freaking defense with Rafaela in CF and Hamilton at 2B. Garcia gets another shot against a lefty starter. No way do I want Gonzalez leading off. I'm going with unquestionably the Sox 3 best hitters right now in the top 3 slots. Anthony leading off looks crazy but it might get him the extra at bat. Plus he's been there, done that. I don't much like my middle three but think the last three could surprise. Anthony DH Bregman 3B Story SS Gonzalez 1B Narvaez C Duran LF Rafaela CF Hamilton 2b Garcia RF
  5. Famous last words.
  6. It is baseball related. It's a serious problem caused by throwing overhand. Same thing Strasberg had and he had to retire.
  7. I disagree. The Yankees lineup is loaded, but the Sox bullpen, Bello, Crochet, and even Giolito were at the top of their form.
  8. Tomorrow night it's May vs another Yankees lefty, Rodon, who is pretty good. Yesterday lefty Fried held the Sox scoreless for 6 IP even with a lot of righty Sox bats in the lineup.
  9. I think he's a good spare part. I don't know his OPS is August, but suspect it's pretty decent. He is hands down our best defensive 2b. And he's pretty good on the bases when he doesn't wander off 3b to meditate. His August OPS (4 games) is .750. Gonzalez's (17 games) is .698.
  10. Could not agree more. Sox tend to be flat the day after a deluge like this.
  11. I don't know how many times I've told Alex not to play that bum Hamilton.
  12. With this new guy Garcia and provided he lives up to some of his advanced billing, the Sox have 5 outfielders not counting Ref, Yoshida, Eaton, Nixon, Kennedy, and Eisenhower.
  13. I like umps making all the calls. No other sport has a machine making the calls on what amounts to 80% of the game. I would be fine if the batter had the right to challenge call, but with a penalty if he's wrong.
  14. Time to drop Duran in the batting order. He's having a lousy August and he has the worst case of RISP disease I can remember. Not even the soothing waters of Yankee Stadium can heal him.
  15. Yes. I think the Yankees runner had some effect on that. Plus I think the runner beats the throw.
