  1. I think next year it would be logical to have a 3 man platoon of 2nd and 1st of Holt, Chavis, and Hernandez. I still like Lin but I have to admit I'm not sure he'll make it anymore to the bigs.
  2. If I'm the Mets I will ask Workman for Diaz.
  3. Can't Marco Hernandez play 2nd?
  4. If that's the case should we trade Chavis and promote Marco Hernandez?
  5. I'm bummed that Marco Hernandez is down at Pawtucket. I think he's proven he's ready for the major leagues. What should the Sox do with him?
  6. We really are blessed with good hitters. I expect to see more 12+ run games this season.
  7. I concur. I don't think you can just assume "he'll be fine" any longer. At any rate, he's due for a prolonged stint on the Injured List any day now...
  8. Speculate all you want about Verlander comparisons, but I was very surprised the Sox extended him for big money given the half years he's given them to date. This year didn't come out of the blue. Ever since he went on the DL last year, he hasn't been the same.
  9. It was the most satisfying game of the year.
  10. Gosh I would love to see even an 8 inning start. 7 seems to be the new 9.
  11. It's a weird year. It's like once someone gets injured, they stay injured. Except Brock Holt.
  12. Interestingly, Travis Shaw is back in the minors after hitting .164 this season, so I can't actually complain about the Thornburg trade anymore.
  13. Why does Walden go down but Taylor & Brewer stay?
  14. (Obviously) I hope you're right. At least most of the bats have returned! But I do think Chris Sale has some sort of injury he's pitching through, and the fact that it didn't get better through last offseason worries me.
  15. I was hoping Eovaldi's electric stuff would push the others. This year is just a disappointment, and I don't see it turning around substantially.
  16. To be fair I was upset at the time about the Beeks for Eovaldi trade, but Eovaldi quickly won me over. And then when we signed him for 4 years, I was excited further. So far this season hasn't worked out. I'm hopeful the next 3 will be better.
  17. If I could get a top starting pitcher for Betts, I'd make the deal now.
  18. Very good point. When the starter goes less than 1 inning, it sets the BP up for failure. Porcello's start was criminal. Price had one like that recently too.
  19. Eovaldi’s return may still give the Sox a boost.
  20. Until he stunk up London, I would have agreed.
  21. Doesn’t that depend on what they get in return?
  22. If you can’t add payroll then a trade is still an option. I can’t think of a trade that makes the team better though.
  23. If the goal of selling is to free up cash, look to trade Sale, Price, and JDM.
  24. Yeah he certainly turned his season around. Whatever he does during the off-season; it’s not working.
  25. Of interest: CHICAGO -- It wasn't without drama, but new Chicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel did his job in nailing down his first save on his very first day on the job at Wrigley Field. Kimbrel got the first two outs in the ninth inning Thursday, then gave up a double and four-pitch walk before inducing Freddie Freeman to ground out and preserving a 9-7 Cubs win over the Atlanta Braves. Good to see Kimbrel is still the same. Heathcliff Slocumb reincarnated.
