  1. Should be an interesting summer! Hopefully, the Yankees don't continue to suck. That would take all of the fun out of it.
  2. Yup, opposing pitchers are clearly terrified of that .275 OBP, so far. I'm sure they'll start to pitch around him as the season goes on and he settles in, but now?
  3. JBJ was a disappointment again last night. I hope the kis is putting in some extra batting practice, because he looks lost right now.
  4. Boris is a friggin' statue in the outfield.
  5. Give it up. It doesn't matter what the subject may be, he either is or knows an expert in the field.
  6. I'm with the " It'll be longer" crowd. I'm no doctor (and I'm not going to lose my s*** if someone disagrees with me), but bone breaks in the feet or ankle always seem to take a while to heal up. See you in June, Xander.
  7. Depends on how far over LT line Hery decides to go.
  8. Nope, I like Hanley and hope he does well enough to vest his option. If he does that and JD starts hitting, this will be one very good lineup. I'll let the FO worry about the money.
  9. Yup, and didn't Devers whack his knee in an ST game last week? It's a good idea to give him a break from playing on turf.
  10. Yup, humor is definitely dead here...
  11. My first choice would be Marrero, if he's on the roster. Then Lin. Then Nunez, if Pedrioa is playing.
  12. If the Sox have a 1 or 2 run lead in the 8th or 9Th? Yup.
  13. Yeah, there has to be something better than foam covered concrete. As old as Fenway is, they'd probably have to rip out and redesign half of the left field GS area.
  14. Ain't that the truth.
  15. Now there's some added entertainment for the fans. Put them on all the players.
  16. Looked it up, to be sure; "Ramirez, a career shortstop playing the outfield for the first time this season, was injured when he slammed into a padded grandstand wall in left while sprinting in pursuit of James Loney's line drive into the left-field corner in the first inning."
  17. I dfon't think it's the rear wall that's an issue. It's the left side wall, 2 feet into foul territory, that's the widow-maker.
  18. Yup, if DD was heading up a movement towards a greater use of analytics, particularly in the advance scourting dept., it was submarined by Farrel. More likely, after the Sox front officed decided part of the failures of the '14 and '15 seasons were an over-reliance on stats, DD just went along with what his new bosses wanted.
  19. Yup, after one of the most boring off seasons on record, Opening Day can't get here fast enough. Good thing the Celtics and Bruins are still worth watching.
  20. If free agent contracts are down again next year, you can bet a strike is coming in 2020 or '21.
  21. Yes, it is! "Eck still swears up and down that a fastball rises!" Eck has always been one of my favorites, so I'll give him a pass on that.
