I did not read all 50 some pages of posts since I was last on here, but I'm getting the sense that many are disappointed in Bloom's deadline moves (or lack thereof). Anyone who was expecting a blockbuster type move was likely going to be disappointed, just at they were over the offseason. Bloom's priority is still long term sustainability, and rightly so. Going for broke this year, or making moves in reaction to what the other AL East teams did, would have been a huge mistake, IMO.
Trading for a player who is on the IL with a hamstring injury is kind of risky, but if Schwarber can stay healthy, he will be an upgrade offensively, regardless of whether he plays first base or not.
Sale has the potential to be the biggest acquisition and upgrade that any team received at the deadline.
Our trade deadline was 'meh', but I am 100% happy that Bloom stuck to the plan. Bloom is the man.
