    This is what was so frustrating about Price last year. He was supposed to be our ace, that type of pitcher where you knew you would probably win the game when he took the mound. I remember a couple of games fairly early in the season in which the offense gave him a 4-5 run lead, and I thought, 'game over', only to have Price cough up those leads.

    I'm not sure Fisk, I'd have to go read the quote again or go look it up. I realize that it's not a fair comparison due to Vazquez' lack of playing time. Even though I like Leon, I'm still pulling for Vazquez to hit well enough to take over the starting job. That is in no way meant to be a knock on our other 2 catchers.

    We are going to hear about it every time Pablo makes an error. Having 2 in 2 games is not the defensive start that he needed to get off to. That said, I think he'll provide adequate, meaning average, defense.

    I'm not expecting any miracles from Pablo, but I do think he'll be at least league average, which would be an improvement over last year's 3rd base production. Personally, I had no issues with the contract given to Hanley. Good to see you posting again.

    I read a fun stat a few minutes ago: Leon's WAR in the past 2 games - 0.4. Vazquez' WAR in the past 2 years - 0.6.

    Last night's game was just a good game, so much so that I stayed up an hour past bedtime to watch the whole thing. I'm glad I did. Great pitching on both sides, some great defense, and a terrific walk off win. It doesn't get much better.

    What I loved about Koji as a closer is that he just didn't mess around. There was rarely any drama.

    Dombrowski did what he thought was best for the team for the short term. He deserves credit for that.

    I thought that the prospect package alone was an overpay, and also that the money alone was an overpay. We got the double whammy on that deal. Don't get me wrong, I love having Kimbrel on the team. I just think that you can get nearly the same production in the pen at a cheaper cost. I'd rather use the money and/or prospects somewhere else.

    Just finished watching the game. Unlike some here, I can't goof off all day. (Yeah, that ticks me off.) Nice win to open the season! Go baseball!
