  1. This team is infuriatingly frustrating. They cannot get any kind of a streak or good run going. Just when you think they might (winning 2 in St. Louis), they go right back into a rut. A couple of stats I read this morning: Since a 4 game win streak in mid April, the team has gone 12-15 and has not won or lost more than 2 in a row. The Sox have a +4 run differential - the very definition of mediocre. I don't care what anyone says, they really should be a lot better than what they're playing.
  2. LOL Or definitely for Buchholz.
  3. This is the same type of thing that happened last year with our #4 and 5 starters, and our fill in starters, which led to the Pomeranz trade.
  4. That's pretty cool.
  5. Thanks. I'm going to wear my Sox gear. That might not go over too well. LOL
  6. I would definitely say no, but then again, I didn't think we needed Sale at the time we got him. If Price ends up needing surgery soon, then it might be a different story.
  7. You keep saying that, but the boss is ultimately going to do what the boss wants to do. Theo is a very effective GM. He ended up leaving, more than once, because he couldn't 'get through' to Lucchino.
  8. At least this game starts at 9:37 instead of after 10:00. And what's with the odd time of 9:37 anyway? Why not 9:35 or 9:40? LHP Chris Sale (4-2, 2.15) will take on RHP Kendall Graveman (2-2, 3.95). My money's on Sale and the potent Red Sox offense. Just get a WIN tonight boys!
  9. I'm not getting why everyone thinks it's such a stupid idea to try to separate the starts between Porcello and Sale. The idea makes a lot of sense, actually. It's really not so much about separating Porcello and Sale, but more about separating the other 3 starters who seem not to be able to go more than about 5 innings. Three games in a row like that does put a strain on the pen. That said, I could agree with you that the execution was probably poor, in terms of the timing of it. However, pitching away in Oakland against a weak offense is as good a game as you can probably get to 'test' someone out.
  10. No question about it for me - Trout.
  11. The Sox have been scouting the White Sox, presumably for Todd Frazier. From all accounts of what I've read, Devers will not be joining the team any time soon.
  12. Short update? Just kidding Max. Farrell did a very good job in last night's game. Thankfully, the game did not go any longer since we had no pitchers left. I've questioned Farrell's moves and I've questioned the overall 'meh' performance of the team, but I don't think Farrell is as bad a manager as most people here think he is. As far as the offense is concerned, I expect them to end up being pretty doggone good.
  13. Based on the philosophies of Ben and Theo, and those of 'businessman' Lucchino, I don't think it's impossible to attribute certain moves to certain people. There is no way for us to know anything for sure, but I think you can get a fairly good idea.
  14. Going to the Camden this Saturday to see the Os/Jays game (free tickets). It is a nice park, but good gracious the traffic is horrendous.
  15. Well I wouldn't call it ridiculous, but I agree that he should be moved out of the clean up spot. No, batting order doesn't make that much of a difference, but I think the expectations on Beni are too lofty. He's just a kid with almost no major league experience. He's handled things well so far, but take him out of the clean up spot and take some of the expectations off of his shoulders until he has a little more experience.
  16. It wasn't criticism of his defense. It was criticism of his lack of 'dirt dog'. Trot dove for balls all the time, which gave the impression that he was playing hard, which he was. But Drew didn't dive for balls, mostly because he didn't have to, and that gave the impression that he wasn't playing hard. That's what he got criticized for, even though his defense was head over heels above Trot's.
  17. Gotta give credit to the pen for last night's win. Awesome job.
  18. Station mojo! We got this game! I'd just like to tell the offense to score some freakin' runs! WIN!!!
  19. There is no precedent either.
  20. I don't mind other teams fans coming here either to have civil conversations and even some friendly ribbing. I welcome it. I do, however, mind opposing fans coming here and trolling.
  21. There is no actual evidence. It's all speculation. If there was evidence, we wouldn't be having this argument.
