  1. I'm guessing that we've seen the last of Pablo on the big league club. Having a healthy Marco and Holt would have helped. It sounds like Holt may be getting close to a return. I'm not fed up with Pablo, but I'm fed up with the way the team has been handling the 3B situation, and I'm fed up with the roster issues created by having Pablo on the bench and not starting him. I really wish that Farrell would have played Pablo regularly to see if he could turn it around even the least little bit. Playing part of one game every 3-4 days did not allow for any consistency. Anyway, it's clear that the team does not trust him and that they prefer Rutledge/Marerro. That being the case, it's time for Pablo to go.
  2. Thanks for posting that Harmony. I guess it does happen, which is how the Sox are getting away with it.
  3. He might not be able to turn it around, but IMO, it would have been in the team's best interest to find out. I know that spring training numbers don't mean much, but Pablo did well in spring training. I'm not saying that I expect Pablo to be great, but I think he could have recouped some of his value. Anyway, it's a moot point now. The team has clearly made its decision regarding Pablo.
  4. Sigh...
  5. First place feels really good. A series win today and a winning road trip would feel awesome. Get it done boys!
  6. If Pablo could turn it around with regular playing time, don't you think that would serve the team needs better than flat out DFAing him?
  7. He may have an ear infection, but putting him on the DL for it is bogus. Has anyone ever heard of a player landing on the DL with an ear infection? I'm not a doctor, but based on experience with my kids, you give them antibiotics and in 24 hours, they're like new.
  8. Welcome Z. I don't like the idea of moving Bogaerts off of shortstop because he didn't take to it too well last time they did that. If a solid, but inexpensive trade option can't be found, I'd just go with Devers. As others have said, he can't be any worse than what we've been throwing out there.
  9. First off, I'm surprised that they can get away with this. Secondly, they should just go ahead and DFA Pablo already. Give him that professional courtesy. They are making him look really bad, which I know no one cares about besides me, but they are also making themselves look bad.
  10. I don't mind the questioning of the move. However, Farrell is not the clueless idiot that many on here would have us believe.
  11. Pedroia was spitting up blood after being hit in the back, but stayed in the game for 2 more innings. Grit is very real. As is mojo.
  12. I agree. When Farrell pinch hit for Pablo, I was racking my brain trying to figure out who would replace him defensively. I figured Pedroia was feeling good enough to come in for an inning or two. When I saw Vazquez at 3B, I thought OMG. I guess Farrell has reasons for not wanting to put Mookie at 2nd, but I don't get choosing Vaz at 3B over that.
  13. There is no doubt in my mind that Dombrowski will do something.
  14. ^^This.
  15. Perhaps if Pablo were given regular playing time, he could perform better. I understand that Farrell is trying to win games, but he still has to keep the 'marathon' in mind. If Farrell is not going to play Pablo regularly to see what Pablo can recoup, then the team should go ahead and DFA him and call Devers up.
  16. ^^This.
  17. ^^This.
  18. I have posted before that when the underperformance is as widespread as it is across our offense that it is fair to question the manager and the coaches.
  19. Farrell said very adamantly that Mookie would not be playing any 2nd base. I guess he was serious about that.
  20. I don't know any specifics, but there will be some roster moves today. Probably Marrero will be called up.
  21. Velazquez did his job last night. It's probably not a good thing when you see Vazquez playing 3B.
  22. It might be statistics, it might be other information that you are not aware of. Seriously, give the man some credit.
  23. This is not trying to knock your knowledge of baseball in any way, but don't you think that Farrell and the coaches, who work with him every day and are in the dugout with him, can tell better than any of us whether Price is done or not?
