  1. Yup, there's still time. I expect something to be done, most likely adding a reliever.
  2. I think there are likely players out there who are enticing, but the cost of acquiring them would be too high. Even if we didn't have the constraints of #1 and #2, Dombrowski and Henry might deem the costs too high. There's not a whole lot of things that can be done, however, when the there's only about $5 mil to play with and the farm is mostly barren.
  3. Yeah, it's time to let it go. The media is not going to let that happen though.
  4. Haha! Well played on the 'cluster yuck'! I think there is probably more to the story than what we know. The fact that teammates applauded seems to support that. Also, I'm sure the media is blowing this out of proportion, as the media tends to do. All that said, that does not excuse the behavior of the team.
  5. Reading now that Price might be DL'd before tonight's game with Johnson being called up to take the start. Coincidence? I think not!
  6. The regular season and the post season are two completely different animals. At any rate, nothing can be concluded from a 3 game series.
  7. The fact that the ump would try, for some odd reason, to enforce that rule when it's never been enforced before (to my knowledge) is ridiculous. Beltre's response was hilarious.
  8. The real kicker is, what has Eck said that has even been that bad?
  9. LOL I get the feeling that you really, really don't like the guy. In fairness to you, you never wanted him on the team to begin with.
  10. If it's true about Pedrioa, it's very disappointing indeed.
  11. Neshek was traded to the Rockies, so he's off the table. I am confident that we will get either a BP arm or a 1B, but I don't think we have the resources for both. My guess is we'll get a reliever, and go with what we have for 1B. Maybe Travis will be called back up.
  12. I don't know how reliable this is: Fred Toucher ✔ @FredToucher Have a source close to Eckersley who claims that Pedroia "was cheering for Price aggressively. Enough for Eck to mention" on the team plane 11:11 PM - Jul 26, 2017
  13. I was hopeful for a while that Price was finally performing like the ace that we thought we were getting. He has the talent and the ability to do so. For the sake of the team, I hope he can keep it together.
  14. I can agree with this. I think how David responds in his start tomorrow to the recent negative media attention will be telling of what we can look forward to in terms what impact the 'negative baggage' will have on him.
  15. I am not a Dave fan, but this move is nothing to send him packing over.
  16. Yeah, but that seems like so long ago. That 13 inning walk off loss broke my heart.
  17. I have no clue what you're talking about.
  18. I think it makes sense to play Devers mostly every day and use Nunez as a super utility guy. There will be enough at bats for Nunez in that role.
  19. Thanks Ben!
  20. I agree that Devers should be playing mostly every day. Xander needs some time on the DL, IMO, but if he truly is healthy, as Farrell maintains, then benching him is not the answer. As far as the line up goes, a shake up might help to get some guys going, but outside of that, it doesn't make much of a difference. You can set the line up any way you want. If the guys aren't hitting, it won't matter.
  21. And then we face Cleveland after that.
  22. KC has won 9 row, I believe. I hope that means they are due to lose a few in a row. We'll be facing a couple of tough pitchers, including Vargas, who is having a near Cy type year. I hope Price is up to the challenge.
  23. Don't be greedy Harmony. You won 2 out of 3.
  24. IMO, Xander needs a 10 day DL stint. Nunez can fill in for him, Devers can stay at 3B, and that gives the team some more time to sort out the roster. However, according to Farrell, Xander is healthy, and his issues are due to timing, not injury. He is adamant about Xander staying in the line up and working through his problem.
