  1. People are out for Farrell's head here, but if Devers is sent down, I'm pretty sure it won't be Farrell's call. I can almost 100% guarantee that Farrell wants Devers on the roster.
  2. You were absolutely right on the Devers call.
  3. I can agree with the lack of fundamentals. Maybe even the lack of focus at times. I don't agree with the lack of desire.
  4. I am really starting to think that Price will opt out regardless of how he is pitching. He might (likely) have to take a cut in salary, but he seems really miserable here in this fan and media frenzied city. A lot can happen between now and the end of 2018, but if things continue like they have been for Price, I think he's gone.
  5. They do seem like they need a spark, but I wouldn't go so far as to say zero desire or zero focus. Did you see Hanley's reaction to scoring the go ahead run in the top of the 13th last night? To be fair, since the All Star break, they have played 14 games in 13 days, including 3 games of 13 or more innings and a west coast trip. That's a tough stretch.
  6. I appreciate the Mariners letting us win one game of the series.
  7. Thank goodness we won today. I can enjoy the off day tomorrow. Sale is awesome. What more needs to be said about him?
  8. Congrats to the kid. Very nice to see!
  9. Those guys have been key for us, no doubt. But it's hard to say, not knowing what might have been done instead. Maybe we're 5 games up in the division, maybe we're down by 5 games.
  10. It's extremely frustrating, but it's not as bad as it seems. Starting with the Tampa Bay series, we have lost 11 games by a total of 25 runs. All of those games were within reasonable grasp. It makes you want to beat your head against a wall, but it does bode better for the team than if we were losing the games 5+ runs.
  11. I tell you what would go a long way in repairing the damage, IMO. Price should address the media and make a public statement, not only apologizing to Eck, but also acknowledging that he was very wrong in the way he behaved. He should also do the same with Eck privately. If he can do so sincerely, I think it will help. He's human. He made a very bad mistake. Acknowledge it and atone for it, rather than staying silent and acting like you did nothing wrong.
  12. I am not one who tends to blame the manager, particularly for in game decisions. However, when the entire offense is in pretty much a season long rut, and the team seems to lack discipline, it's fair to question the manager and the coaches. It starts with Farrell, but I'm also wondering what Chili is doing? The team as a whole is making weak contact and popping up a lot.
  13. The pitcher we are facing today has a 5+ ERA. I am hopeful!
  14. Where is Bobby V when you need him?
  15. Dombrowski was not pumping up Devers. The media and the fans were.
  16. I agree that hitting is by far a bigger concern than pitching. I would like to add another reliever. If a 1B upgrade can be acquired for that amount, I'd be good with that. I am a big Moreland fan, but he has fallen off big time.
  17. I have no problem with the trade. I think it's a good depth/insurance move, which I'm always a fan of. But I don't think it's much of an upgrade over what we already have.
  18. Luis Ysla was DFA' to make room for Nunez on the 40 man roster.
  19. What's the word on Swihart? Might he be able to help out at 1B?
  20. That's the bottom line. We just need our guys (offense) to play up to expectations.
  21. I don't necessarily disagree with this, but I think that while Henry's directive was to get the team back into the postseason immediately, it could have been done while still thinking longer term.
  22. There is no excuse for the team's behavior. I don't like the air of players feeling superior to other employees of the team. You treat everyone with the same respect, from the janitor to the CEO.
  23. I share your sentiments.
  24. We do need another BP arm, and Neshek would be great. However, when a game goes into extra innings, it doesn't leave a manager a lot of choice.
