  1. I also think that the Yankees are the favorites on paper. However, I am not ready to just concede the division to them, as some seem to think it's a foregone conclusion. The Red Sox players will have something to say about that.
  2. I drafted a near all Yankee team in fantasy this season. The Kimmi fantasy jinx is on. You all can thank me later.
  3. Fingers definitely crossed. That's the last thing we need.
  4. Agreed. Best of luck to Marrero. As for Holt, I'm glad the Sox did not release him. I would prefer he start the season in AAA, only because he has the option to be able to do so, but I have no problem with the team hanging onto him.
  5. I just cannot imagine Lackey accepting a minor league contract with any team. He is probably still interested in pitching if he can somehow get a big league deal.
  6. Even though we don't seem to be ranking very high at most positions, Fangraphs ranks the Red Sox as tied for the 3rd best team in all of baseball behind the Astros and the Evil Ones.
  7. Good stuff Youk. If the 29th weren't the day before my spring break starts, I'd take the day off too. Go baseball!
  8. Holt only reads my posts, from which he gets his motivation.
  9. Well, the Sox should not screw him. Let performance dictate playing time, not the option. If things are handled that way, Hanley will accept the situation.
  10. As I said before, Hanley's option vesting or not vesting is not what will make or break the cliff.
  11. This is one of the reasons why it would be unwise for the Sox to limit Hanley's PAs if he is hitting well. Yes, he would be justified in his grumbling if that were the case. Many people are assuming Hanley will be grumbling even if Moreland is outhitting him and, therefore, justifiably getting more PAs than Hanley. I don't think that would be the case.
  12. Amen, brother Notin.
  13. Jason Mastrodonato ‏Verified account @JMastrodonato 17m17 minutes ago I would describe the reactions by the Orioles minor leaguers to Craig Kimbrel’s fastball as astonishment, laughter and fear. Three batters faced. Three strikeouts. One guy did hit a foul ball.
  14. I love this post.
  15. It usually does, I think. It may be premature, but I'm starting to feel a lot more confident about Price's elbow.
  16. I'm not concerned one way or the other about Hanley's option. It's a non factor for me, as it should be for Cora. I trust Cora to do the right thing.
  17. There has been no indication that Hanley will be grumbling about anything. He understands the situation.
  18. I can believe that. Golf seems like the perfect sport to track those kinds of things.
  19. Sure, they'll be a tough opponent. I don't think anyone is seriously blowing them off. But don't underestimate our Red Sox.
  20. You are not alone. The Yankees don't scare me.
  21. That's pretty much what I'm talking about.
  22. As PA said, launch angle. It's all the rave.
  23. Anything is possible, but by all accounts, Hanley knows exactly what the situation is. He realizes that if he isn't hitting, he's not getting the at bats. I don't see him making a fuss if he is being treated fairly in terms of the # of at bats he gets. Now if he's killing the ball and the Sox bench him with the sole intent of not letting his option vest, I think Hanley would have a reason to fuss, no?
