  1. JD Martinez > Stanton
  2. The thing is, for the leadoff hitter, OBP is king. Besides Mookie seeming to be extremely comfortable in that spot, his OBP is 57 points higher than the next guy on the team. Mookie may not get the RBI opportunities, but the guy is creating runs off the chart.
  3. JD should hit clean up. End of discussion.
  4. The Sox new winning streak starts tonight. Let's go!
  5. Nowhere did I say that Sale was our problem.
  6. Yet another one of your feeble attempts to convince yourself that the Sox are not as good as the Yankees. If you were truly convinced that your team is 'all that', there would be no need for these types of posts. Fact: The Red Sox scare you. Big time!
  7. Sale has been very good, but he has not been the dominant ace, the stopper, that we expect him to be. His season reminds me a lot of Price's first season with us, very good, but not as good as what we expected. Maybe our expectations are too high? Last night is the type of game that I expect to win with Sale on the mound. I am disappointed in his performance so far this season.
  8. The Sox should have signed him to a minor league deal way back when. He was worth the shot.
  9. My thoughts while Betts is on the DL is that it would be nice to have a right handed bat like Hanley's. The Sox have been reduced to calling up Sam Travis.
  10. You are absolutely correct. I had no idea how weak the competition was.
  11. I know that most people disagree, but I am 100% serious when I say that they should let the stat geeks vote on these things.
  12. Exactly! We have them right where we want them!
  13. 100% agree. Never count Pedroia out.
  14. Stats also say that batting order makes such little difference that you should bat these guys where they feel comfortable batting. Mookie seems to have really embraced being the leadoff hitter. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  15. The trade for Pom needed to be done at the time it was done.
  16. The Yankees are wusses.
  17. I don't care how they do it, just win the stinking game!
  18. At the game mojo! Have a great time! Don't forget your Talksox sign! LOL
  19. Lulling you into a false sense of security. They have the Yankees right where they want 'em.
  20. I think the voting is the same as it has been. Because of that, it's not really an All Star game. It's a 'favorite player' game.
  21. Personally, I think Kelly currently ranks above Kimbrel in terms of an All Star spot. Also, I think Porcello deserves a mention.
  22. Cora and Dombrowski stated that they didn't think Hanley would 'sit well'. There's a negative implication to that, IMO. Either way, why not just say that they didn't think they'd be able to find enough at bats for Hanley, and leave it at that? There is no reason to talk about how they thought he wouldn't handle it well, outside of trying to cover their own butts.
  23. The vesting option had pretty much everything to do with it. If there were no vesting option, Hanley would still be on the team.
