  1. Stay safe guys.
  2. That's a very real possibility, and it would be icing on the cake.
  3. And oh, it's OVAAAAH!

  5. We are facing another Jays starter with an ERA north of 5. I'm expecting the Jays to take a pounding tonight.
  6. It's odd. Especially when he looked so bad at 2B.
  7. I have been a big Devers supporter, but I really have to question how much playing time he gets in the postseason. He is the 3rd baseman of our future. I'm just not sure about this postseason.
  8. Yeah, I would like to see Phillips get some more playing time in the next couple of weeks.
  9. Well said and I agree. Cora is now trying to determine his postseason plan. There is nothing wrong with questioning his moves. What I take issue with are the comments (not from anyone in particular) that imply that Cora is blind, or clueless, or something along those lines. He is far from anything like that. He has solid rationale for his moves and he knows what he is doing, despite the fact that sometimes a move does not work out.
  10. I was thinking the same thing. If Sale and Price are right, I would take our 1-2 punch over any other team's. I feel good about our chances. Really good, actually.
  11. The key here in having 3 catchers is that Swihart is not just a catcher. He provides versatility. If he were strictly a catcher, there is no way I'd be advocating 3 catchers. Swihart's ability to run and play other positions allows us that luxury.
  12. Even if we only pinch hit for a catcher once in the game, it would be nice to have that 3rd catcher so that Cora would not be hesitant to use his 2nd catcher early in the game. Also, it may be my imagination, but it seems like so often when we have a good scoring opportunity, who is coming up to bat but none other than Leon.
  13. Agreed. Nunez' defense has been pretty solid at 3B. I don't really see a purpose in having Lin on the roster.
  14. That is the whole point. But it's not like we would are just carrying a 3rd catcher. Swihart is a utility player who just happens to be able to catch.
  15. This was the same thing that Bogey was doing a lot last year. Cora told him to look to drive the ball rather than slapping it the other way. Perhaps he needs to tell Beni the same thing.
  16. This is how good the Sox are: Pete Abraham ‏Verified account @PeteAbe 5h5 hours ago Chis Sale has thrown 6 innings in the last 47 days and the #RedSox have added five games to their lead in the division. I keep telling you guys that we didn't need Sale.
  17. LOL I do not handle late inning drama very well, much less postseason late inning drama.
  18. We are indeed very fortunate as Red Sox fans. My dad has reminded me repeatedly that these (the Henry era) are great times to be Sox fans.
  19. There is a good article on MassLive about how Price credits a 2-0 cutter that he threw for a called strike to James McCann on July 20 for propelling his second half. I found it very interesting that he remembered that specific pitch because he thought it was very well executed, and more interesting that he used that as a springboard to become a 2nd half ace.
  20. That would also get Wright through everyone (or most everyone) in the lineup at least one time, giving Kimbrel the advantage of the knuckleball effect.
  21. Having Wright coming out of the pen can be extremely effective, though it is also extremely scary. I'd give it a chance in the in the postseason, but only starting with a clean inning, and I'd have someone else ready to go just in case.
  22. Exactly. With Leon's hitting being virtually nonexistent, the fact that he is still starting over Swihart and Vaz speaks volumes. In Porcello's last start, Cora was going to start Swihart, but then had second thoughts about it and went with Leon.
  23. Hmm. I love Cora but, I don't know if I'd go that far. Tito is the man.
  24. Sure. And some position players can pitch in a crunch. That doesn't mean it's something I'd want to see in a playoff game.
