  1. I refuse to have any Sox players on my team. That would almost certainly mean instant death for the players.
  2. Finally, some real baseball games! Let's go!
  3. So this was the best of both worlds for the Sox. They kept all 3 catchers, while not using a spot on the 25 man roster, and they will finally get to give Swihart more playing time to see what he can bring. If he fails, we still have Leon.
  4. 100% agree.
  5. I feel better about having Leon as depth and insurance. Hopefully, Swihart will get the job done, but he is too much of a question mark for me at this time.
  6. Until someone proves otherwise, the Red Sox are the best team in baseball. As far as the Mariner's announcers go, I am pretty certain that every time I watch a Sox/Mariners game on the Seattle feed, Dave Sims is announcing. And he is extremely annoying.
  7. 100% agree! I appreciate the non micro managing.
  8. I get that and I agree with it. I was okay with the Sox not re-signing him. I was not okay with him agreeing with the Evil Empire. Anywhere but the Yankees.
  9. Self important before the Sox - maybe. Traitor before the Sox - no.
  10. Varitek was great. Defensive catcher metrics back in the day did not do him justice.
  11. This is true. That said, Vaz/Leon > Vaz/Swihart.
  12. Not possible. And BTW, the Seattle announcer is one of them most annoying announcers around.
  13. Personally, I am not happy about Leon being placed on waivers.
  14. I've always liked Swihart too, and feel like he got jerked around a bit by the Sox. He could end up being a very good catcher, both offensively and defensively, but what makes me nervous is that we just haven't seen him play enough to know. It would indeed be the best case scenario for the Sox if Leon clears waivers and stays with the team.
  15. As I said before, the guy who dropped Devers is going to end up regretting his decision.
  16. If Henry is willing to continue to pay those steep taxes, which I never thought he would, then the team might actually get by with a barren farm. Not the smartest way to do baseball, but that's the bed that we've made.
  17. Damon is a self-important traitor and Boggs rode the horse.
  18. That stinks. I hope he's okay.
  19. True, but there is also the thing about a pitcher doing worse the 3rd time through the order, after the batter has had a chance to see the pitcher a couple of times.
  20. I can understand why Dombrowski doesn't want to give up on Swihart. But it's a little ironic that Cora seems unwilling to give Swihart the playing time. So Dombrowski really likes him, but Cora, not so much?
  21. I like having Devers batting 3rd. I just hope he doesn't feel too much pressure batting higher in the order. I'm sure Cora has a handle on it though.
  22. I agree Oldtimer. I personally don't see the need for a lot of line up tweaking from one game to the next.
