  1. I actually agree with this. It was Cora's plan to intentionally hold them back during ST and at the beginning of the season, preferring to keep the long term season goals in mind. All of his 'marathon' managing paid off last year. While the plan may have cost us a couple of early games, I suspect that Cora knows what he is doing.
  2. I always expect or hope for the same, but so much for momentum.
  3. LOL I did. There's a legit reason this year. As you know, Zac has been the commissioner of our league since we started playing. We are playing in honor of him this season.
  4. I may be the only one, but I am on board with this rule. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I like it.
  5. What an awesome comeback win last night! A big Thank You to Moreland and to Barnes, and thank you Barnes for not creating any 9th inning drama (outside of going 3-1) against their leadoff hitter.
  6. I refuse to have any Sox players on my team. That would almost certainly mean instant death for the players.
  7. Finally, some real baseball games! Let's go!
  8. So this was the best of both worlds for the Sox. They kept all 3 catchers, while not using a spot on the 25 man roster, and they will finally get to give Swihart more playing time to see what he can bring. If he fails, we still have Leon.
  9. 100% agree.
  10. I feel better about having Leon as depth and insurance. Hopefully, Swihart will get the job done, but he is too much of a question mark for me at this time.
  11. Until someone proves otherwise, the Red Sox are the best team in baseball. As far as the Mariner's announcers go, I am pretty certain that every time I watch a Sox/Mariners game on the Seattle feed, Dave Sims is announcing. And he is extremely annoying.
  12. 100% agree! I appreciate the non micro managing.
  13. I get that and I agree with it. I was okay with the Sox not re-signing him. I was not okay with him agreeing with the Evil Empire. Anywhere but the Yankees.
  14. Self important before the Sox - maybe. Traitor before the Sox - no.
  15. Varitek was great. Defensive catcher metrics back in the day did not do him justice.
  16. This is true. That said, Vaz/Leon > Vaz/Swihart.
  17. Not possible. And BTW, the Seattle announcer is one of them most annoying announcers around.
  18. Personally, I am not happy about Leon being placed on waivers.
  19. I've always liked Swihart too, and feel like he got jerked around a bit by the Sox. He could end up being a very good catcher, both offensively and defensively, but what makes me nervous is that we just haven't seen him play enough to know. It would indeed be the best case scenario for the Sox if Leon clears waivers and stays with the team.
  20. As I said before, the guy who dropped Devers is going to end up regretting his decision.
  21. If Henry is willing to continue to pay those steep taxes, which I never thought he would, then the team might actually get by with a barren farm. Not the smartest way to do baseball, but that's the bed that we've made.
  22. Damon is a self-important traitor and Boggs rode the horse.
