  1. They haven't won it all, but they are competitive virtually every year. The playoffs are a crapshoot, as we all know.
  2. I wouldn't trade either, but it's hard to defend the idea that we're not buying championships. I'd rather do it the small market way.
  3. Prediction: The Yankees are going down, one way or another.
  4. Momentum? Nope. Means nothing.
  5. How did it work out in this year's NLDS?
  6. It's funny how managers just keep getting recycled to other teams. One man's garbage is another man's gold, I guess.
  7. Anyone but the Yankees.
  8. Good call Kimmi!
  9. I have no problem with the timing of the Sale extension. If Sale had a great year, then walked as a free agent, we'd never hear the end of how the FO screwed that up by not extending him earlier. It's very similar to Beckett's extension. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
  10. Thank you for saving me the time.
  11. I honestly believe that we did not have to go to the extent that we did in order to win in 2018. There's no way to know for sure, obviously, so it's all good. The ring in 2018 made it all worth it.
  12. It's also finding those second tier players that will give you more bang for you buck than the high priced free agents. I am so not a fan of our gigantic payroll.
  13. Why can't we make small market moves, if we could do it brilliantly? Why do we have to make big market moves which end up handcuffing us for years to come?
  14. Honestly, I'm sometimes not sure what to think.
  15. And pay higher ticket prices to show up to the games.
  16. Fair post. It depends on what other moves go along with any "house cleaning" type moves. With the moves you mentioned above, the team remained competitive, at least on paper. I don't think we'll tolerate going into the season knowing that we won't have chance of making the playoffs.
  17. I won't say that he was all bad. His priority was putting fans in the seats. That is a different priority than the GM's priority of putting wins on the field. Sometimes a move can do both. When there is a difference of opinion, however, the GM should win out.
  18. Lucchino can be in the Hall of Fame for the business aspect of baseball. I'll give him the credit he deserves in that aspect of the game.
  19. I agree with this. Saying that Ben wasn't fired is basically semantics.
  20. It is a well known fact that Henry panics.
