  1. I never imagined we would be seeing $400 million contracts to MLB players. It's insane. It has to stop somewhere.
  2. You would think that as good as these athletes are, they wouldn't need to have the biggest contract in order to validate their worth. Maybe it's because I'm not a multi-millionaire, but I just don't get it.
  3. I agree, he will eventually become a manager.
  4. Maybe nothing to get excited about, but it's depth! The more, the merrier.
  5. I was hoping they'd give him the bench coach job. If it were up to me, I'd still have him catching.
  6. I agree with you 100%. I find it refreshing when a player leaves some money on the table for one reason or another. I always wonder what a person can do with $150 million that he can't do with $100 million. Or in Mookie's case, what he can do with $400 million that he can't do with $300 million. It's mostly an ego thing. They need more money to boost their egos.
  7. People would pay big money to see that.
  8. It was the pairing of Orsillo with Remy that I really liked. Together, they are awesome.
  9. Gennett would be a great pick up on a minor league deal. I'm sure that if he were willing to sign a minor league deal, someone would have signed him by now. My guess is that he's holding out and will eventually sign a big league contract.
  10. Yeah, it kind of is unreasonable for Betts to ask for that much.
  11. Thanks. You can click on the "multi-quote" button and have that post repeated with every one of your posts, like Moon did.
  12. But they will come back if the Dodgers win the WS.
  13. I have liked him since the Sox signed him, based on reputation alone.
  14. The Yankees are toast before the season even starts!
  15. David Ross. I am a fan of back up catchers, in general.
  16. I have nothing against the Dodgers. I have nothing against Mookie or Price. I just don't want to listen to all of the 'we should have never traded Mookie' rants.
  17. I will be very pleased if Bloom can pull something like this off.
  18. I pretty much agree with you Nick. The Sox are looking for ways to rebuild the farm and their young core. I wouldn't trade JBJ as a salary dump anyway, especially with questions surrounding Verdugo's back.
  19. !!! I'm wondering if Clay is just really against the idea of returning to Boston.
  20. Bloom appears to be looking for creative ways to get us some starting pitching that is a tier or two above the dumpster dive. That said, there is still nothing wrong with adding as much depth as possible.
  21. These are some very valid points with which I agree.
  22. It's impossible to know one way or another, but we have the championship, so that trumps everything else. I know I criticize Dombrowski a lot for his moves, and will likely continue to do so, but the bottom line is that we won a WS during his tenure, which makes all the heartache over the farm and the cliff worth it.
  23. I'm in 100% agreement.
