  1. There you go. There's always someone worse off than you are. LOL
  2. I was just reading about that. That is really a very drastic cut from the typical 40 rounds. I can see cutting back, but cutting down to 5 rounds seems a bit much. There are so many players who are going to be left hanging, with nowhere to play. I feel bad for them. Many potentially very good players will slip through the cracks. And yes, it does magnify the Red Sox' loss of their 2nd rounder.
  3. ARod had some good insights or information to share every now and then. That said, I have a hard time even looking at him.
  4. Personally, I didn't have a problem with Joe Morgan.
  5. Not her fault, but she didn't help the situation either.
  6. So, I have watched two games so far. You are right, the announcers spend a lot of time talking about things other than what's happening in the game. Most of it is baseball related, with guests 'in the booth' talking about what it's like to play in the KBO. It's strange that they keep the image of the announcers and guests on the right side of the screen while the game is going on, kind of like a Zoom meeting. It's been difficult to focus on the game itself.
  7. That would just take part of the fun of being a hometown crowd out of the game.
  8. I was not aware that those were replacement refs. Hey, at least it got the regular referees their jobs back.
  9. It's funny that you should mention a "non INT". I just happened to catch the last couple of minutes of a replay a couple of nights ago between the Seahawks and the Packers. Seattle won the game on a very controversial Hail Mary touchdown call. To me, it was pretty clear that it was an interception. I am wondering how much the home crowd affected the replay call.
  10. Here's a more detailed schedule of the first week for anyone who is interested: TV channel: The games will air on ESPN2 both for live broadcasts and re-aired games moving forward. 11. That's as good a reason as any to pick a favorite.
  12. I don't know any teams or any of the players, so right now it doesn't interest me that much either. But if I watch for a couple of weeks, I will start getting more and more into it. Unfortunately, these games are not showing up on my guide yet, so I can't set my DVR.
  13. Here's the first week's schedule. Set your alarms for those early morning games!
  14. ESPN Agrees To KBO Broadcast Deal By Steve Adams | May 4, 2020 at 9:31am CDT After several weeks of negotiation, ESPN has reached an agreement with Korean media counterpart Eclat to broadcast Korea Baseball Organization games. The KBO announced that ESPN will be airing one game per day, beginning with tomorrow’s contest between the Samsung Lions and the NC Dinos (Twitter link via Jee-ho Yoo of South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency). Tomorrow marks the official season opener in South Korea, where the KBO is hopeful that it can squeeze in a full 144-game season despite starting about six weeks late due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Games will begin without fans in attendance. More to come. It's not the MLB, but it's live baseball and might tide us over until the MLB returns. Everyone pick your favorite team. I'm going with the Doosan Bears because they're supposed to be good and I know nothing else about the KBO. LOL
  15. Sounds a little double standard-ish from your opinion of whether Cora should be rehired. I get it. We tend to defend our favorites more fiercely than we would defend others, but if he cheated, which he did, then he cheated. Cora cheated and is serving a one year suspension. At least he is serving some sort of punishment for his wrongdoing.
  16. Your boy Springer is a cheater.
  17. Haha, good choices!
  18. Amen, brother.
  19. Thanks. I was vaguely aware of all of that, but I couldn't remember who we played last year. I always thought that the forced rivalries between some teams was kind of stupid. It makes sense for some teams like the two NY teams, but doesn't make much sense for other teams.
  20. Exactly. IMO, most of the times to pinch hit for the pitcher are pretty identifiable. Pretty much everyone who's watching the game knows when that substitution is coming.
  21. I can see the need for some of these changes for this season. For instance, robot umps, which I am strongly against, would help with social distancing. Extra inning shortcuts or ending in a tie might be necessary if the league is planning to play more doubleheaders. Once we return to 'normal', however, go back to the traditional ways and rules of playing the game.
  22. I have never bought into the whole strategy argument in keeping the pitcher batting. It can be argued that having a DH requires more strategizing.
  23. Yeah, there are a lot of good and exciting players that we rarely or never get to see because they play in the NL. I don't know if the Sox were scheduled to play the Dodgers this year, but I'd also be very interestd to see Betts and Price play against their former team.
  24. I am with you on this one Bell.
