  1. Well looks like some DL time for him now. Dang.
  2. Carp is the freaking man!
  3. Not sure 'hilarious' is the word I would use... Rhymes with 'fitifull' is closer to my thinking...
  4. LOL, they just showed ad for movie with 12-year-old kid managing a major league team, and Brad Ausmus looks just like the kid.
  5. Why exactly is Sizemore still here?
  6. Hard to tell if this line-up is really this anemic, or it's just facing Max Scherzer... But I suspect the former.
  7. And in the World Series, Lester is 3-0 with a .43 ERA and .762 WHIP.... Those are numbers that could get him paid....
  8. Welcome, Andy.... Whew, I'm not the no0b any longer..... ;-)
  9. Well, not really...! I mentioned them on 5/2 on this thread... ;-) But I agree, there are more bad than good these days...
  10. Ace is back and up to his old tricks. First 2 Mets faced - walk and 2-run HR. Also, the Yankees are wearing BP hats - blue with grey bills... Crazy, have never seen them wear anything but all blue in a game...
  11. Have to disagree re: Mets. Gary Cohen, Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez are excellent. Darling in particular is wonderful.
  12. Don't follow EPL or MLS much, but am a huge USMNT/USWNT fan. Also the Azzurri (Italy). Looking forward to the World Cup big-time. We happened to be in Italy in 2012 when the UEFA Cup was winding down. Watching Italy defeat Germany and being in the streets of Rome was amazing. And watching Spain destroy Italy 4-0 in the final while in Venice was also cool (while depressing).
  13. Just keep winning series....
  14. The problem with Millar as that he doesn't know when to shut up. I like Orsillo and Remy as they don't really 'over-talk', unless they get on one of their rolls, where Don feeds Jerry lines and it's really good stuff. Classic, of course, is the pizza-slice-throwing incident from a few years ago.
  15. 2012, he was 11-10 with a 4.86 ERA and 1.45 WHIP, in 2013 11-6/4.32/1.43 - actually his best season. Is that really 'fine'? I guess if he was cranking out 200+ innings, yeah, but he did 161 and 162 respectively, so he isn't really even an innings-eater.... I guess I was expecting a lot more from him, thinking he would benefit from Farrell's return. He did to a certain extent last year but doesn't seem to have improved. I know it's only 7 starts but he is still slow to the plate and I don't like his body language. Seems to me he gets too caught up in calls, kind of like Lester used to especially in 2012.
  16. Just glad they were able to pull out a win last night. Doubront has been crap so far this season. I wonder if he will ever put it together. He's the one I'd like to see gone at some point.
  17. Thank God MLB Network switched to Mariners - Astros.... The start of that game is much more exciting.
  18. Agree. I only see Sox games when they are on MLB, play the Yankees or Phillies... But 16 hits in 10 innings and a 9.00 ERA ain't gonna get it done... I know Don and Jerry were talking about the fact that he feels like he needs to pitch a lot to be effective, but what comes first, pitching a lot or being effective?
  19. Well, Farrell managed a grand slam out of Pedroia last night, so I guess he is back to being a genius...
  20. Wow a challenge that goes the Red Sox way!
  21. That's Jeremy Kapstein, a FO advisor. Guess he likes listening to Joe Castiglione...
  22. I love a site with some spunk! Umm, not meaning the porno type....
  23. And how does that impact the Sox?
