I'd like to rescind my prediction that we may well surprise people with how good we are this year. That feels like...a stretch now. Not that surprising news, really. Didn't like the contract when it was inked. Time to break it up a bit now. Hopefully Evaoldi has a great season then trade him. He might, might stay fit this year (he won't), but he sure as s*** isn't staying for for another three. If we can get out of that contract we must. If JBJ manages to be anything other than crap and we can get a lottery ticket at the deadline, take it. Workman, too. Keep Chavis, Dalbec and all our younger players and use the (hopefully) mush increased financial flexibility to go at it again hard the next few years (after this one).

I think everyone likes his stuff and personality. He's just made of biscuits. Hopefully he can put together a healthy year, but I doubt it.

Yeah, absolutely they do. It depends what they're after. At some point it makes sense, and at some point it doesn't. I loved the idea of buying prospects in this sort of a deal if the LT was low. Depends how high it creeps though, and what was on offer.

Maybe, maybe not. Different stresses create differing releases. If we offer whatever deal the Padres wanted, they'd do it 40 minutes before Quantril was due to start. We'll see what happens.

That's the shocker for me. Coming off a .264 average season. Making him rich beyond imagination and giving him all the security he could need, and he said no. I get believing in yourself, but I just do not know how he turned that one down.

Earlier in the debate some articles were supplied backing up 'your' side of the argument and then were immediately debunked and shown to be opinion pieces that got their facts wrong - probably on purpose as they are like yourself, happy to wrongly accuse a kid of all sorts or stuff because they didn't like a trade. The original article (which all else has come from) was then supplied and it was pointed out by several posters - there was absolutely no mention of accusations that Verdugo was anywhere near a potential rape/sexual assault and or filmed anything to do with the sexual assault. And yet you've continued to bang the drum continuously. And even in this post continue to suggest he was involved in a sexual assault despite the girl saying he was not in the room and was not the boy in question. I guess you just know better than the person actually in the f***ing room that was possibly sexually assaulted? If he was involved with laughing at the girl getting hit then he was a prick. If he had anything to do with the filming of her getting beat up, he was a prick. If he still feels like it was funny now, he's a prick. Of course we don't know any of this and we don't know (if either of the first two things are true) whether he has genuine guilt and remorse over it. All we know for sure was that he wasn't in the room when the sexual assault was said to have taken place because this has been verified by the possible victim. He was out of the room when the suspected sexual assault was said to have happened. There was no videoing of a rape. Yeah I think there's little to no chance people stop bitching about the Betts trade, unless we hit the ground running and/or Verdugo tears it up.

Most reports I've seen suggest Myers, Cal Quantril and Luis Campusano (or possibly Gabriel Arias) with not a lot going the other way. I make that trade in a heart beat.
