  1. Same. I generally scroll past a few posters without reading as they make me angry or depressed 😂but very few. I generally like reading as many opinions as possible, but it really isn't hard to ignore people on a text-based forum.
  2. Notin, come on man. You're reaching for anything and everything to make an argument that just isn't needed. More than one thing can be true at the same time. Did the Sox have a log jam in the outfield? Sure. Is it also possible they were keeping him down when the team was screaming for change as they didn't want to risk losing that year to a run at ROY? Sure. You'd swear service time manipulation is a new, barely whispered about, thing.
  3. I would suggest that if you think losing a year of control of the number 1 rated prospect in the game didn't factor into their thinking around when he'd come up, you're being very naive.
  4. Do we really need to call it a conspiracy? Of course they won't want him to win it this year.
  5. I agree with this. I'd be okay with Duran being traded if the return blew us away, but otherwise Abreu makes the most sense for the reasons outlined. It made sense in the off season. It makes even more sense now.
  6. The future has arrived.
  7. I genuinely can't decide if this TedYazPapiMookie character is a wonderfully committed Troll, or mad. Good entertainment either way.
  8. The weird thing is, he seemed to be set off by the fact I put ROTY in there instead of ROY (God forbid), more than my spelling per se. My spelling is pretty damn good. 😎 My dyslexia, however, is about as bad as it gets. Not so good.
  9. Well aren't you quite the little firecracker? 😂 Landing on here with a bang proclaiming yourself a 'superior baseball mind' while ignoring basic facts and posts pointing out you're arguing against yourself, and then your latest offering - suggesting people wouldn't know what cronyism means? Cronyism. Fantastic stuff, sir.
  10. I agree that 1B in particular was a bad move. I was against it from the moment it happened. I also, as previously mentioned, didn't like him in CF. But sometimes needs must, and the sport sees things differently to you and I. Regardless, he's now scuffling in every way. A bit of time away from the glare to reset could be a good thing.
  11. Okay, well first off, Campbell wasn't hitting like ROTY and then it all fell apart after he occasionally got moved to CF. He was hitting like ROTY while he was still getting the odd game at CF. Secondly, while I agree that I wish Campbell would have just been left at the 2nd and forgotten about in terms of moving around, it's not just Cora - there is an MLB-wide movement towards wanting more flexibility in their players and roster. This is just much more of a thing now, whether we like it or not. It's getting tiresome hearing how Cora is 'useless' and 'worthless'. He's certainly got some fronting up to do when it comes to the errors and situational hitting mistakes this team continually makes, but he is a good manager and pretending otherwise is just childish. He has also not had a roster worth a damn for the majority of his time here. And even this one, which we hoped would be something, we all agreed that it was lopsided at best. He has questions to answer and needs to show something over these next few months, but let's calm it down a bit. Lastly, I don't know what to do with the logic that Cora should be looking after these young players at the highest level and leaving them at their position while hearing in the same breath Anthony should be moved to a position he's never played before and brought up the big league to play it. 🙅‍♂️
  12. It's not perfect, but they're not moving Rafaela and I don't think Anthony is going anywhere near RF.
  13. No definitely not, there's no guarantees. I would imagine it is partly down to them hoping that he was going to find it at the plate and also because of all the reasons you've pointed out. If we had Bregman healthy I think it likely would have happened already. We'll see I guess. Hopefully the kid just starts to rip it up starting this weekend.
  14. There's a lot to work out, but what's best for Campbell is also what's best for the Sox. Having him scuffle is pointless. And I'd say going down and having a reset is probably best.
  15. Has to be Duran to RF in that scenario.
  16. Mike Trout went back down the minors after a horrid start, to work out things. If he needed to go down, nobody is above it. I'd be sending Campbell down for a bit personally. He's got a big future, but he needs some time away from the limelight to work out a few things.
  17. I don't think so. They could (and probably should) have sent Campbell back down for a spell at Worcester by now, which would have opened up a spot in the infield for Rafaela if they were that way inclined, and they haven't. It's more that they (rightly imo) don't want to move Raf off of CF for anything if they can help it.
  18. I'm not making the move off of centre with Rafaela, either. He is a supremely good defensive CF'er, and his hitting has improved this year. He's striking out less and hitting the ball harder. Still a ways for him to go, but he's not the issue, losing that defence would hurt and you make moves elsewhere. Despite the worrying fact that Anthony continues to be seen a savior by this fan base, I'd rather we trade Abreu and bring up Anthony to play left and Duran to go into right. Either way, the results over the next few weeks will make something happen one way or another. Lou Merloni was a good listen on 310 to Left's pod yesterday. A man at breaking point with some of his frustrations with the team - mirrors a lot of what most are feeling I think.
  19. They're obviously not sellers right now though? Why people get angry over pointless hypotheticals is beyond me. If we continue on the same trajectory we've been on and are out of this thing in 4-6 weeks, we absolutely should (and will) be sellers. You'd hope that Buehler, Gio and Chapman (if they all pitch well and stay available) could bring back some pretty exciting returns. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Bregman go either who could be one of the biggest pieces out there on the trade market if he comes back and hits as he was. Then there's Duran, that the rumours will not top swirling about. I think this team is cooked for this year. I don't seem them turning this around. Too inconsistent, too brittle, too much uncertainty and bad planning. I imagine we will see a busy sell off in a month or so. I'd much rather we didn't and were in the thing, but I'll be excited to see who we can bring in once/if we become utterly out of it.
  20. Let's hope the fan base is patient with him.
  21. Correct. You keep Duran in this line up. No matter the other moves.
  22. I'd guess that it's more down the face hardly anyone will want Yoshida at this point in time.
  23. This is my biggest bug bear with this (and I imagine all) fan group(s). People make conclusions on at bats, or minute information nowadays, in a sport above all others where it really isn't informative. In game threads you see players getting slagged off and then praised and talked up, in the same game, within a few innings of each other sometimes We had a poster (I forget who) that openly boasted to basing opinions off the immediate. Posters couldn't wait to call anyone stupid who thought about trading Abreu in the off season during April. Now, one or two are questioning whether we should have again. It must be hard to be a player these days - fanbases are just itching to turn on you. In the world we've built of immediacy, it isn't changing now, we're stuck with this mindset I think, and it means skimming over a lot more posts than I used to, but man is it frustrating how solid people's changing opinions are on things these days.
