  1. Regardless of where Tolle and Skenes are in their respective careers, I still wouldn't want him moved if possible. Skenes is a freak for sure. But Tolle could be a very hand piece with a 2nd starter ceiling. I'm not just giving that away if I can help it, regardless of how he compares with Skenes right now. I shuddered when I saw the Rafaela inclusion, and yet I really shouldn't. I'm hesitant to believe he has completely figured it out and that this isn't just some crazy purple patch, but man if he has... I think you're right in that on Pitt's side it starts with Anthony or don't bother ringing. I'd happily include Campbell, swallow Mayer, begrudgingly add in Tolle. Weirdly, I keep feeling huge hesitancy around the Rafaela trade. How does an offer of Mayer, Campbell and Password work out on BTV? chances are Pitt would want some pitching back, however.
  2. I'd just rather us make the shortfall up in another way, rather than send away one of our best pitching prospects. If it came down to it, gun against my head, I likely do it whatever, but I'd just rather a different 3rd player. But there's really not much I wouldn't pay for Skenes, especially if we could lock him up long term.
  3. 100% agree it would take a lot more. I'd do it with Campbell, I'd be loathe to lose Tolle, too.
  4. I look at that and I start believing in the play offs. Without it, I still see a hard time of it, even with the 10 game heater. I've been in sell mode most of the year, I've definitely been moved into 'okay, go for it' mode, but this next stretch is the most defining one of the season yet (feels like we say that a lot but this in undoubtedly that). Either way, whatever way it goes, we have incredibly tantalising and sellable assets, or pieces to move to get us over the hump. Going to be exciting one way or another.
  5. I'm not so sure Houck doesn't stay down and spend some time in AAA re-working his delivery.
  6. It's not like in video games where you just pick the player you want and get him. Devers wasn't a fit for the Twins in any way.
  7. Breslow for all the (some fair, lots not) criticism, has made a lot of very good decisions so far.
  8. I think you're about o have your heart broken, Kimmi. I don't want to see Duran going but I think it's inevitable. We badly need a 2nd starter. Crochet is nails. Gio and Bello appear to be locked in and hopefully that's who we have or near enough towards the end of the season, but it's far from a lock. After that, it's a lot of questions and huge ERA's. We need that extra pitcher and we have a lot of outfielders. Padres seem intent on getting Duran, so if we involved a 3rd team, I think it likely happens.
  9. I suspect this is probably very close to the truth. He let himself (and teammates) down hugely when he refused to play 1st when we really needed him to. To then offer to play there because 'they're the boss' in his first Giants press conference was just a final insult. We don't need to assume anything about how good a teammate Devers was towards the end. He showed us. I don't have any ill will towards him, but I don't particularly care if he does well either. He's the past and I'm rather glad that he is.
  10. I honestly have no idea why any of you waste time interacting with him. He's either a (successful) troll, or a condescending fool for whom it is impossible to see oneself as wrong about anything. Either way, he's a waste of time.
  11. Ridiculous! Jleave him where he is and trade your team back into balance!
  12. If the Padres really are this desperate for Duran, tell them it's De Vries or nobody. Then flip him in a package for pitching yourself,
  13. I must have watched that Rafaela walk off twenty times. It;s a game we should have (and would have 2 weeks ago) lost. O'Brien nailed the call, and the atmosphere was like a play off game. Take one of these last two games now and we're in a great place all of a sudden. The All Star break is coming just at the wrong time for us.
  14. This is a tragic way to support your team. *I better run to the forum to reverse jinx this, and if it happens the way I said anyway, I can tell everyone I knew it all along. It's every day/night, man.
  15. It is the only thing that makes sense to stop Toro playing every day
  16. Mayer is going to keep getting platooned. Which means Toro is going to start every day. Which really isn't good.
  17. I do that. I don't think the Twins do.
  18. Not a cat's chance in hell that Duran gets it done for Ryan. We'd have to tag on quite a bit more.
  19. I need to put my glasses on before replying next time. I didn't even see Yoshida at 1st! 🧑‍🍼 Do what all good posters do and ignore my previous input.
  20. And the balls to trade Devers. Whatever else you think of how we got there - that was a gutsy, put-my-job-on-the-line move.
  21. I've mentioned a few times - DD has been on record saying his starting pitchers aren't available. Now it could be a ploy to drive up price, either way - Duran isn't getting it done.
  22. As I've been at pains to point out - it looks incredibly light at infield and Romy would have to cover both Mayer and Toro against lefties in the same game! Something has to give.
  23. Interesting. Didn't realise you guys had it so tough right now. The Rays series is becoming larger in importance by the day.
