  1. I don't think it will likely be the ask - they seem to want pitching - but there's definitely noise around it. If it absolutely is who they want - you do it. We have no idea who Mayer is yet either as a hitter or around health, and at best seems to a platoon right now. If you can get THE best 2nd baseman (a position of need) who hits with power, then you do it and figure out the rest.
  2. I'd say Crawford has the better track record for sure, but we don't know how he's coming back from two major injuries and he gave up a lot of HR's. I'm not sure his value is very high to many teams right now. It sure wouldn't be surprise to me if teams valued Dobbins higher.
  3. Indeed. Sign Bregman. Or go for a stop gap and fix it next year if need be.
  4. I've been one of the posters advocating the most for trading KC - the kid has beefed up!
  5. Yeah, I don't see Bo going back to the Jays, and I don't see Schwarber going back to the Phillies. Though both are possible, of course.
  6. Why is giving up Crawford more crazy than Dobbins or Harrison?
  7. Again, agreed. I didn't see either of his last two trades coming. Not even imagined them. He's going to make some big moves this week, but they might not be obvious ones. And if nothing else, that's exciting. Seeing a lot of noise around Diamondbacks wanting Mayer for Marte. Do it all day as long as there are no character questions around Marte.
  8. Same. I really don't understand why people would think they are not going over.
  9. Criswell claimed by The Mets,
  10. Another reason to doubt Schwarber - we lose our 2nd and 5th picks if we sign a QO guy. That doesn't sound like something Bres would do.
  11. Yeah, lots of moving parts. Mixed reports coming out only muddies the waters.
  12. Yeah, the moves are somewhat surprising in ways, I'm looking forward to what's coming next, because clearly we aren't done.
  13. Yeah, it really makes little sense, but the main national journos keep banging the drum about it. Cotillo and McAdams think absolutely not.
  14. I don't understand why anyone would get this angry before the off season is over. Just chill out and see if there's a reason to be angry. Jeez.
  15. There is a LOT of continued talk about us being seriously in on Schwarber this week. Confusing to me with the way the roster is currently aligned, but I won't complain if we get him.
  16. Harrison and an outfielder definitely feel the most likely. Should bring back something very good, too. Saying that, Bres has surprised me on both trades, so I wouldn't be surprised to be blindsided again.
  17. I was just about to post the same thing ha!
  18. Hmm okay, looks like I had it wrong then,,.
  19. Further to this discussion -
  20. I'm pretty sure the sites are behind and that we were at 39 before this move (and after). I may be wrong, but that's what I've just seen.
  21. I agree. I've been thinking this since Gray. I feel like either we move Bello for an upgrade to the rotation, or some of our 5-10 pitchers are getting moved for infield help.
  22. Also, really hard to judge Crawford's value right now after a lost year. Teams would likely be trying to get him on the cheap.
  23. Hard agree. It was definitely a growing concern.
  24. I think we had room any way, but are now down to 39 for room for a Rule 5 move. Draft and trade might be on again.
