  1. I will be subjected to the same joy in just over a weeks time as I'm moving to Brooklyn to live for a year. I'll just ignore them if they can't control themselves. I feel sorry for them in some ways, they can't help it. Nobody really likes a Yankee fan. I mean, I get the impression, there are times they don't like each other. You can see them cast a sideways glance at each other and think..."you're a f***wit". Poor buggers.
  2. Or, you know, you can just continue to show class when you win and pay no attention to what a Yankee fan has to say on other occasions. My issue with Devers is that he very little patience at the plate at the moment. He's trying too hard and he's looking to hit everything 500 feet.
  3. I have only my eyes for this as evidence but I would suggest it is not as long. Especially with two strikes.
  4. I'm shocked to say the least. Really didn't see that coming. I am however, very happy with it.
  5. Hanley is not getting released.
  6. A one off hit proves or disproves nothing, though. He's struggling like crazy to catch up to the fast ball. That much is absolutely crystal clear. It's painful watching him hacking out there. His swing looks way too long to me. Hard to know if it's bat speed or mechanics, but I'd certainly start by shortening his swing.
  7. We certainly have started the season very poorly...
  8. And yet on another thread you couldn't help having another stab yourself. This site has now become a constant argument of pettiness between modern stat based fans and more old school 'eye' fans. Both have their place. I wish everyone would shut the f*** up about it so we could go back to slagging off the hitters, the pitching, the management and the FO decisions. Edit to add: Sorry if my last line seems hostile specifically to you. It's more a general feeling of annoyance about the pettiness from all directions than anything aimed particularly at you.
  9. They'll rule as all one day!!!
  10. Well, that really does explain the constant need for dishonesty. Hard to leave work at the office.
  11. You're slimy and dishonest. But then, you were a lawyer. Can't blame an anteater for liking ants. I'm done with this conversation. There's only so much a man can take of another lying through his teeth and deflecting with all his might, Donald.
  12. Debate is great. I wish there was more of it.
  13. Cora actually said Sale made the decision for him. He was inbetween but Sale said he had him. I love it when Sale gets dominant like that.
  14. I don't particularly have a dog in the stats V's eye debate. I happen to use both sides myself. I think there are some stats that are excellent and essential to forming an accurate view. And other stats, I think, are not only useless, they can create false information. And don't compete with the eye. There are some analytics I agree with and others I don't. For example I don't agree that hot streaks or line up protection are not a thing. That said, on almost every page, of every thread, there seems to be a barb aimed at people who have used statistical analysis to arrive at a point. Kimmi in particular seems to get rounded on despite her being one of the best posters here, whom almost always backs up her points with reasoned analysis and/or background. I read this forum long before I joined it. And even back then, it was the same old s***. It's embarrassing watching the same people falling over themselves to try and belittle the arguments of things they either don't agree with, or on times, just flat out don't understand. As you say, it would be lovely if we could all focus on supporting the team, but lines have been drawn in the sand and some people would rather be wrong than give up their previously held position. For what it's worth I find your posts very interesting, too. And you have the added and rare gift of being willing to have your mind changed.
  15. Absolutely brilliant post.
  16. Me too. I think he's showing himself to be a very good leader? So far.
  17. *yawn* a700 trying to weasel out of something rather than walk back on a point. Who would have thought it. I guess you never lose the sliminess and duplicitous nature of being a lawyer.
  18. Yes of course. I mean having a manager with little intelligence whilst doing a poor job none the less, would obviously have absolutely no effect or impact on their team. And you talk to me about faulty logic? Good grief.
  19. My apologies. You've mentioned several times in the past you don't consider these men to hold much intelligence, I figured it was an extension of this view.
  20. We don't need to trade anyone right now. We can deal with the options easily and have strength on the bench and depth in AAA. It's a perfect situation. Changing that right now would be stupid.
  21. at 16-2? This seems far too sensible an idea.
  22. He quite clearly knows his baseball. He comes across as a very intelligent fella.
  23. I'm going to revise my early prediction to 159-3. There will be one game where something goes wrong.
