  1. I would go for the effect of the coaching staff. I have no hard proof but I always felt that the players didn't really respect the coaches we had last year.
  2. Ben brought a WS to the club. He was a success, regardless of what happened the other 3 years.
  3. I'm a little torn on it. He's been absolutely fine so far and made no errors that have worried me. However, I do sometimes think he looks awkward. I don't think his acceleration is the best either, so he wouldn't make the ground up others would. I have no issue with him having a few games in the OF, but I'd be a little nervous if it was in the WS. That said, his bat is so amazing, you get him in no matter what. Such a great hitter.
  4. Same here. I'm not sure why some need to keep posting complete guesswork as factual information.
  5. WHAT. A.PLAYER. I can't believe I was ever worried we were getting the right guy with this signing.
  6. How many jobs has he interviewed - and been turned down - for because they don't trust him with the payroll?
  7. This is why keeping Swilhart was always on the agenda. Cheap. An okay back up (at the moment) but with the possibility of adding something offensively to the team. It's always made sense to keep him if we could. I still have a lot of faith in the kid. I'm hoping he will grab this opportunity and run with it.
  8. The man was an utter lunatic. Genuinely unstable.
  9. Sonny Gray is getting another hammering tonight. Escaped the first bases loaded but just given 5 in the 2nd.
  10. It could be argued you've got a lot more time to think about it in the pen.
  11. Haha I can understand the feeling behind that first sentence.
  12. I've been reading his posts. He seems...how shall we say...lacking in logic on times. I don't see him as a troll. It begs the question if you do, why bother replying?
  13. 'Troll' gets thrown around so much these days, simply having a difference of opinion (no matter how stupid) is enough to label somebody. Do you really believe he's spending his time trying to wind you up? Or is it just an informed opinion?
  14. 2nd graders should get a shot at running the country, I reckon. They can do no worse than the s*** show going on now.
  15. It was and is sexist. You can joke about many things that would make idiots laugh. That doesn't make the topic of humour right.
  16. Correct. There's plenty more time for the Yanks to hit Price around, yet.
  17. Yeah the yanks won't want to go two back with all the games to catch up, but as you say, not make or break either way. Let's hope Severino is off his game.
  18. I do delight in Jacko's constant need to quash his worries about the Red Sox by posting where we are going to fail. Devers needs sending down. The 6-9 spot is a disaster and you'll struggle because of it. Your catchers are not hitting enough. A modern day Nostradamus.
  19. I had the privilege of watching my first ever Yanks - Red Sox game last night. Couldn't have picked a nicer one. It was nice to be in tow with a load of Yankee fans.
  20. Very nice pick up. Helps us out in a few different ways.
