  1. I'm not really sure what your post has to do with mine.
  2. Yeah but at least all the people who were losing their s*** calling him desperate and clueless came in after the JD signing and admitted they were wrong rather than going on to baselessly complain about other things. That happened right?
  3. Cora seems like the type of guy who can't get enough information, whether it be analytics or word of mouth. I like that about him, very much.
  4. Yeah, ST really means very little for the upcoming season, form wise. How many times have we seen a player light it up in ST, only to fall back to the mean (or below) when it comes to show time? There's little to take from ST, especially this early. That said, it's still comforting to see Swilahrt doing well, even if I don't give it much respect, overall. Really like the kid and want him to stay here and play. Beni looks big. The guy has really packed on some muscle.
  5. It is amusing to read opinions of people who think DD just happens to be walking around without any plan, just strolling around, daydreaming his way into situations... I mean it's fine if you don't agree with his plan, but to think a highly respected GM in charge of one of the biggest sports clubs int he world doesn't really think things through or make any plans...what do you say to that? Ha! Anyway, i think bar the odd depth move/minor league deal pitcher acquisition we are done. The payroll is too tight for anything else.
  6. You do yourself no favours by outright lying when giving an opinion on a player.
  7. Don't bite Kimmi
  8. Weird double post there... Have a picture of a smilie smiling.
  9. If he fails the medical, it will be mere minutes until the conspiracy theories about us 'knowing we wouldn't really sign him and did it just appease the fans' start pouring on to the comment sections of every forum and article relating to the Red Sox in North America. Quite possibly started by Natic to NC.
  10. My missus has just landed a job with the UN so moving to New York in a month or so. I'm sure it'll be fun being surrounded by Yankee fans... Will mean I can finally start getting to more games, however.
  11. Me too. Really can't wait to see what he can do with this team.
  12. What is this s*** ffs?
  13. I really feel DD has played this off-season to perfection. He's brought in Moreland to keep down Hanley's at bats. Brought back a lightening rod of a player for us last year, for next to nothing. And brought in the power we needed for a much lower price than expected. All this while not losing a single prospect or needing to trade one of our starters. And in an atmosphere of people losing those minds over perceived inaction. Great off season so far.
  14. I know right? Who knew? At the very least people will stop bumping their gums about Dave not doing his job or being too patient and yada yada. Fantastic signing at a very solid price. To go along with Nunez and Moreland stopping Haney getting his option, this is a good off season so far.
  15. Oh that's interesting. Clearly both parties wanted it. Makes me even happier with the deal.
  16. That would be an awful deal for us.
  17. $4m a year for Nunez is extremely good business.
  18. Self-awareness has never been your strongest suit.
  19. On the blame game...I always felt the coaches and management were slightly amateurish. This is conjecture on my part, but I never had much faith in the coaching staff. Chili Davis in particular was a coach I had very little time for. The hitters regressed massively. Carl Willis, another I wasn't fussed on. You had Pedroia helping the batters and pitchers who were on rough patches. I just don't think they were the most organised bunch and maybe wasted some of the talent we had on our books somewhat.
  20. That's insane!
  21. I personally think they wanted to see what was happening with Martinez, first, but have now just got to the point where they need to make their moves to get the club ready for ST. Martinez could still well end up here. I'm just beyond caring anymore at this point to be honest. I hope Nunez has a rigorous medical.
  22. Because they didn't need to rush the decision? Nunez back would be a great pick up.
  23. So in due time, we could look back at his off season work to date as: commendably patient and restrained.
  24. Because he's a professional and will want to get his client the best possible deal, maybe? Of course he will try to get the Sox to give more money!
  25. If take LoMo or go for a risky roll of the dice on Duda. I'd also bring back Nunez.
